  1. Cancelled my order

Can you imagine the reactions to any vehicle produced in the 1980's would be, if they'd had exposure to the internet back then?? I suspect many of the shit-slingers and social media trouble makers around here were conceived in the 1980's and never really experienced a steaming pile of automotive...
  2. Filter Numbers

How about this "genuine" oil filter I just installed...MADE IN F'N CHINA... I need a rear 18" tire for my Harley and there are non in captivity...Been waiting since July and I'm getting intel it will be mid October before I get rolling rubber. WTF is it coming to?? Shortages in the USA rival...
  3. Is overheating an issue?

Huh.... those aren't my findings or experience with my ED. I'm completely satisfied...and pull WAY over the limit.
  4. Is overheating an issue?

I'm gonna agree with you as well but "Different strikes for different folks" applies here. This temp issue is a frigg'n rabbit hole and how long one decides to chase it is a personal choice. For one, I REALLY hope you find a valid and sustainable resolution...not just for you but for ALL us ED...
  5. Is overheating an issue?

I think your entire theory is valid and I agree...but I'm not gonna go much further to chase heat reduction. My approach has been... 1.) Use the Tazer with the ability to operate the fans manually 2.) Make the hood vents functional (see my photos in this post) 3.) When all else fails, back off...
  6. Is overheating an issue?

I've posted this before... after repeated requests to Jeep, this is what I got from their engineering group regarding heat on the 2020 EcoDiesel. Overheat: • Normal coolant operating range is 203°F (95°C) (Thermostat Start to Open) to 240° F (115°C). • The Overheat chime should come on...
  7. Is overheating an issue?

I made my hood vents functional and here's my answer to water ingress...I bought some marine grade vinyl, made a template and had a local seamstress sew covers. I found stainless marine grade snaps on Amazon and...VIOLA!! Pop them on in an instant, roll 'em up and tuck them under the seat when...
  8. Is overheating an issue?

Also consider this, using the Tazer to manually run the cooling fan on HIGH is a huge benefit to expel unwanted heat through the hood vents. Here's the underside...
  9. Filter Numbers

Thanks to ALL!! This REALLY helps...
  10. Filter Numbers

We need a sticky for this...and dang, I've looked! Does anyone have the part numbers for the oil filter, air filter and fuel filter for the 3.0 2020 Eco-diesel? Perhaps the best place to purchase online? MANY THANKS in advance.
  11. Is overheating an issue?

I really like both ideas. I might first try removing the hexagon in the OEM. I really like the super clean finish on the underside with the aftermarket though. Any thoughts there?? Edit: Remove the plate UNDER the hexagon shape...I made this mod the other day and there appears to be a...
  12. Is overheating an issue?

Well, it looks like what is considered "high" engine temperature is purely in the eye of the beholder. If one is old enough to be from the era of 180f thermostat, these little engines are scorchers. Others think it's fine if spit sizzles on the air cleaner.
  13. Is overheating an issue?

The little diesel DOES run hot...too hot for my liking, but it is what it is I guess. The TAZER with the latest version allow you to manually run the electric radiator fan on HIGH rolling down the road. I find if I start the fan before actually encountering a high temp condition (ie. steep...
  14. List of Chrysler MS-12991 Engine Oil for the 3.0 EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler

That's the point, you are just as safe with Rotella T6 as with unicorn blood. There's something else to consider and that's cost and crap FCA puts suppliers through to get the MS-12991 certifation. With the world using Shell Rotella, Shell really doesn't need the tiny niche market of FCA... and...
  15. List of Chrysler MS-12991 Engine Oil for the 3.0 EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler

I can be everyone's guinea pig. At 15k miles, I switched to Rotella T6 5w-40...and now the little diesel is at 20k. After exhaustive research and reading on the subject I made the decision. The issue is all about ash content of the oil, and ash is an enemy to the DPF. The unicorn blood...
  16. Uh-Oh...we're in trouble now...

Deleted...problem solved. It's all fun until someone loses an eye...
  17. Uh-Oh...we're in trouble now...

Well, my bad. This was sent to me from someone that knows I have a Jeep and was giving me a hard time. Why would anyone suspect this was from a porn site? Just say'n...sorry, I thought it was funny.
  18. Turbo cooldown period?

Wanna see me cringe?? My wife drives a Kia Stinger/twin turbo/12 sec street car...The frigg'n engineers have this thing programed when you start the engine, with ABSOLUTLY no input from the driver. it races the engine from zero rpm to 3000rpm for about 5 seconds. WTF!! Talk about not waiting...
  19. Here we go again

And you were asked?? Perhaps covet the 3.0D? Just wondering...Or was this just a cheeky post.
