  1. Newbie Considering EcoDiesel order any advise?

Considering that the OP lives in Florida where the highest elevation is something like 300 feet the Pentastar will not lose any power. With no plans to take it off road and just using it around town, they would fall into the target market for the 4XE. With charging stations all over that area...
  2. Newbie Considering EcoDiesel order any advise?

Honestly, the 4XE is a better option if torque and MPG are the driving factor. You just have to deal with the potential for more things to go wrong. As for faster acceleration, a diesel will come off the line faster but will be overtaken by the gas hitting 5,252 RPMs quicker. The Wrangler...
  3. Newbie Considering EcoDiesel order any advise?

An engine being designed to compete in a market does not mean it is the optimal option for a task, just that there is a want for it. The engine can absolutely drive in a city, but if you don't need to sacrifice HP for torque where is the benefit? OP said that they don't have multiple driving...
  4. Newbie Considering EcoDiesel order any advise?

Yes, switching from diesel engines will save delivery companies money due to reduced maintenance costs from using a long hauler engine for stop and go services. You kind of took a left turn there with it being world controllers trying to force everyone into mega cities... And it is probably a...
  5. Newbie Considering EcoDiesel order any advise?

You aware that they have switched a large section of their fleets away from diesel to gas, hybrid, natural gas, and propane engines due to diesel emissions issues and the cost to service those engines? So if you are wondering if those delivery trucks are diesel, there is a chance that they are...
  6. Newbie Considering EcoDiesel order any advise?

If you are going to have more start/stop driving or bumper to bumper highway drive than open roads, cut the diesel out of the mix right now. They have more lower end torque, but they are designed to drive long distances. The T4 is a newer engine. They haven't been around long enough to know...
  7. Cancelled my order

You might not have had them long enough to notice the problems. That's not a slam, just an observation that you are cycling through them quickly.
  8. Quickest and safest way to go from 87 Octane to 91 Octane

Same conversations happening over in Bronco world right now. Ford recommends 91 but says 87 is minimally acceptable. There is research and testing behind their recommendation. Some people want to follow the recommendations and get miffed that the dealership doesn't care. Some people are good...
  9. 4XEing in the sand - Raison d’etre for electric

Corolla is fun. Check out Ocracoke Island if you want to get away from the people or want to fish. Definitely no free charging stations so bring your hook-up.
  10. Trickle charging the 4xe?

The Level 1 charger is pretty much a trickle charger. How long are you planning on it sitting in the garage between drives?
  11. Protection for the rear painted fenders?

I had to change out the sliders for running boards so my daughter could get in my JLUR. My MIL's driveway is gravel. The running boards deflect those little rocks extremely well. In the rare times that need the sliders I can put them back on in 20 minutes.
  12. What did you name your Jeep JL?

Mine is pretty tame. My 5 year old daughter named my sarge green JLUR Beep It Jeep It. My wife and mother-in-law locked on to that name fast. To get back at my MIL, she wanted to get the tags GOSMWHR on her Ford Expedition, so now I am riding around with those tags on Beep It Jeep It.
  13. Welp...Nacho and Hella are done

Jeep has had over 70 different color options the last 22 year of the Wrangler. I think pretty much anything that isn't black, White, or a shade of Grey becomes a unicorn after a few years. It is awesome that Jeep keeps colors fresh, but it is a little extreme.
  14. MotorTrend: Bronco vs Wrangler - Which is Best?

Frameless windows was the only thing I really hated about my mustang. Living in an area with sleet... too many times I had ice build up on the windows while at work or somewhere else and the windows would freeze to the point I couldn't open the doors because the glass wouldn't retract from the...
  15. is $55k otd a good price for a JL?

That is a pretty good price for a great rig. If it's what you want then pull the trigger. It is near the end of the MY so new ones are going to be hard to come by and ordering will take months. Another option, but has it's risks, is to search in areas near airports. My brother has 1 dealership...
  16. Unexpected turn of events: my Jeep's incoming

Hyundai has been a good car manufacturer since they poached Toyota's engineers. And Hyundai is the parent company of Kia, not the other way around. I don't think there is any company around that could hope to match Hyundai's warranty. But totally agree that Nissan makes bad cars and refuse to...
  17. Bronco features you would like Jeep to incorporate into Wrangler during JL's mid-cycle redesign

The only option that Bronco has that I really wanted on my JLUR is the 360 degree camera. Other than that, Bronco has everything in packages where you have to select everything to get one feature you actually want. The tech is great, but it is just more things that can break that you can't fix...
  18. Is Bronco worth the wait?

After waiting to see a couple in the wild, I can safely say IMO there is nothing special about the Bronco other than it is rare to see. The Rapid Red and Cyber Orange are great color options, but the other colors are lacking. The soft top doesn't fit at all. The hard top is better than the soft...
