  1. Anyone running a Awning?

You would need an external rack like the Gobi, LOD, or Metalcloak Adventure Rack to mount up an awning with a soft top
  2. Anyone running a Awning?

I have an OVS 180° awning on my teardrop that has been through the ringer weather wise, and I can recommend them, but I'm not sure what's available for a smaller sized awning. Seems like most are around 6'6" when closed.
  3. Pictures of camping with your Jeep

It's pretty great if you have the room for it. Not just in/on the Jeep, but also at the campsite. It's a large footprint to level and smooth out. I'm over 6' and have plenty of room to stand up. We can setup the inside bare bones with a sleeping mat and sleeping bags, or go posh with the...
  4. Anyone running a Awning?

I'd run far away from the RR awnings. I had a 270 that snapped at the hinges even though the legs and awning corners were still staked down. The broken joints ripped through the fabric.
  5. Pictures of camping with your Jeep

I'll only go back to a RTT if I can store all the bedding for all seasons in it. The scene from Austin powers and digging things out of the bag/his ass prevented me from going with the gazelle. All the videos I watched and the couple actual trips out with others using them proved they are see...

Testing out the Shiftpod after ditching the RTT.
  7. Knock in rear with Dana 44

Send a PM to @JeepCares about your issue. They helped me with number 2 replacement.

Sounds like it's gone bad from that video. It was louder for me on 33"s vs the stock setup.
  9. Knock in rear with Dana 44

All of mine were nothing like that. It was a constant thunking sound while decelerating/coasting around 10-20 mph. I've got loud Magnaflow exhaust, so it was hard to pinpoint for the dealer, but once I removed the rear cargo cover it was obvious.

Diff fluid in a LSD is going to be dark by nature after any decent amount of use. It's the glitter and chunks that get you.
  11. Knock in rear with Dana 44

20k mile update on the AD rear axle. My passenger side axle seal wore out and was leaking. Ordered the parts myself and spent an afternoon at my cousins place using his lift to replace. Rear diff oil looked good when we drained it. There has been zero issues with any knocking...and I'm running...
  12. Trav's overlanding sport build

The last camp trip left us with no useable shelter from the wind and snow other than sitting in the Jeep or sitting in RTT. We weren't able to store bedding in the tent, so we were already having to pack up bedding everytime we closed up the tent. And the final dislike was the straps and...
  13. Trav's overlanding sport build

A few minor changes recently. Rubicon high clearance fenders. LOD Destroyer rear bumper and tire carrier install. Still waiting on a couple things, but it's nearly complete. I'll lower the trail rack once everything is finished up. The Rhino Rack Batwing now resides in a landfill. Those stupid...

They have been really good for me. I'm over 50k miles on this set now. I don't do rock crawling, but they have seen tons of off road use throughout Oregon, Nevada, and California in our camping adventures.

Update on my 3rd replacement. The new AD part number seems to be the ticket. Just replaced diff fluids after 24k miles on this one, and it looked like normal used gear oil. No contaminates and the magnet was relatively clean. Looked like a normal lsd oil change.
  17. Eaton Detroit Truetrac options

If I show up with anything other than stock sized wheels and tires, the warranty on my current axle will be denied. As far as what's wing with them, they burn up the clutches extremely quickly and that results in contamination in oil, excessive wearing on bearings, seals, and gears, and a low...

Backstory: 18 JLU Sport with rear D44 replaced 3 times so far. Need to re-gear and ditch the factory LSD. Over 60k miles and FCA has flagged my VIN. I've been talking with a local off-road and fabrication shop and they are looking at the offering for the Nissan Titan #913A582. It's for a...

5 year or 60k it's covered under the power train
  20. Knock in rear with Dana 44

I can confirm AA part numbers for both prior replacements. I was looking at the papers from them last night.
