I think I'm still going to go with the ARB Heavy duty lift. Although it is a bit more of a lift. It fits better with what I want to do with the jeep - mostly forest camping and moderate trails carrying approx 6-800lbs of extra load at all times.
Icon just seems to be marketed more as a desert...
You have 2 options.
Get the ideal lift now or work with a spacer lift that specifically caters to front sag.
Have you measured how much you're sagging in the front? I recommend teraflex or rough country spacers both works if you're installing them yourself. Just doesnt make sense to pay...
Thank you for the pictures! Your Sahara looks gorgeous! Especially with the accented tow hooks on the front. Where'd you get that hood decal by the way? I was looking for that too. :)
May I ask what type of 2 inch lift are you running? Brand?
I was looking into metalcloak as well but unfortunately, none of the dealers around me does installation for brands they don't carry and I live in a condo which makes it impossible to do self installation. If I lived near you, I would 100% come to you for installation. :(
Thank you. In regards to weight, thats exactly what I'm thinking. Even though I am on a sahara, the amount of weight currently on stock has pushed it down by 1.5 inches in the front and a whole inch in the rear.
Do you think small 285/75R17 (33.8 inches) will be just nice for this type of lift...
I'm about to pull the trigger on an Icon stage 3 - 2.5" lift for my JLU Sahara.
Will be running 285/75R17s.
I'm afraid the tires might be a bit small for this lift since I'll be netting 3"+ in the front and 2"+ in the rear. Any thoughts?
Also I'll be doing a lot of long distance camping road...
Lets say ur on a sport.
Doing rubi take offs + teraflex leveling technically is no different from getting a 2.5 inch suspension lift.
1.5 tf + 1.5 rubi rise in height = 3 inches.
might as well get you a proper 2.5 inch suspension lift which is a 3.5 on a sport but you said u have weight so...
I am very close to pulling the trigger on a stage 3 to start things off but one thing has been bugging me. Out of curiosity, why don’t y’all supply rear sway links?
i am on a sahara. Would I net 4 inches of lift front and 3 in the rear after alls said and done?
i’ve looked into AEV but im not a fan of the geometry correction brackets. I also noticed i will need to buy a front track bar as its not included in the kit. i’ll rather spend a bit more money and get everything i need in one kit.
So i've had my eyes set on the ARB HD lift kit for like 2 months now and my dealer just called me today saying its sold out and they have no ETA for parts.
I have almost 650lbs of extra weight of accessories on this rig at all times and I'm just running Sahara stock springs with a 2 inch spacer...
