  1. AVG MPG After Lift kit/Tires...GO!

2018 JLUR 3.6 MT. 3.5" metalcloak, 315s. I run about 14-15 mpg highway (~70-75 mph), and 15-16 around town (35-40 mph). I'm running no door and no windows on the soft top.
  2. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Got the missing parts today, will probably work on the front end this this weekend!
  3. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

I installed rear fender liners from American Adventure Labs I had planned to install their RGB highline, front inner fenders and rear liners, but I'd already started the rear when I discovered I was missing the quick-release buttons from the rear. Now I'm waiting patiently for them to reply to...
  4. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

When I first picked it up after the service, it felt off, the engagement was much closer to the floor, and there was a hesitation in the pedal as it came out of the friction zone before it came to the upright position. This sucked a lot, but after a day of wheeling it feels pretty much like it...
  5. JL Aluminum Half Doors - Now Available!

I looked at the install instructions on the bestop doors here. Looks like it would be drilling 3 holes on top of the door and putting a velcro strip on the lower door. Not particularly appealing to have the velcro on there when most of the time I'd run without the upper. There is probably a way...
  6. Spare tire fit with 35’s. Help

be careful with the brake wire. It may be very snug when you raise up the bracket. You might have to open it up and allow it to run in a straighter line to give you the slack needed to raise it up.
  7. What is the average age of a JL Rubicon owner

46, 2 teens and a tween at home. Mortgage at 20% LTV, college savings about where we want it for all 3 kids, wife and I both have pretty good jobs with 401ks with decent matches.
  8. Who actually takes their JL offroad?

Went to the trails this weekend, here I am about to get stuck in the MUD, and the looks of the tires after I winched myself out. Stuction is a thing. Notice that the plate is flipped up for easy access to the winch. The tree strap, snatch block and winch controller were all ready to go...
  9. Who actually takes their JL offroad?

I do. As others have said, not a daily driver, but I do drive it daily if the weather is nice.
  10. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

They just called. Did it today. Clutch passed, so only the sleeve. They also are giving me the new front stabilizer so they can mark that recall off as completed even though they aren't touching my current setup. Interesting.
  11. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

I dropped mine off today for them to do Wednesday. I did not remove the oil pan skid (I have the Quadratec under armor system), figured if its a problem they'll call and I can reschedule. I started to do it this weekend and just wasn't into it. Anyone want to vote on how long until they call...
  12. DIY Tire Rotation Question.

I do every 3k with Nitto Ridge Grapplers (the more MT like the tire, the quicker the wear the shorter the rotation interval to keep even wear). I use a floor jack and 2 jack stands. Jack up Passenger side, spare to rear, rear to front, drop it down. Jack up the driver side, PF to DR, rear to...
  13. Axle Truss - When/Why would I use one?

I had a local mechanic do the work. While he had everything out of the housing, he welded on the truss. After everything cooled, he finished up the gear change. I don't notice any difference while driving, and my axle hasn't broken when wheeling, so ... Success?
  14. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

Stupid question. For those of you with aftermarket armor under the jeep, are you planning to remove it prior to taking it to the dealer for this check, or are you going to let the dealer worry about it?
  15. Rubicon Owners Question: Rainy Day Rear Axle Operation

On snow, one wheel slips, then the stability control system kills the power and applies brakes to the free spinning wheel to get the other wheel to spin. It is very obviously happening.
  16. Open cavity in rear after bumper swap

When you remove the plastic at the bottom of the rear bumpers to change the bumper or clear bigger tires, it opens up a cavity that goes right up to the wiring behind the drivers tail-light. I can only imagine the amount of mud/water that could be thrown up there and who knows what terrible...
  17. FIX for key fob key opening in my pocket every ten minutes.

I took one of my daughters’ hair ties and looped it around to keep the key closed. First one was white/blue, then pink, and right now I’m on Purple. They last about 4 months.
  18. Wisconsin Steel Bumper, Red Tow-Hook, OEM Hitch, Ace JL Tire Carrier

All items pending I replaced my Ace JL tire carrier with a RockHard 4x4 Patriot series bumper/tire carrier. Mostly this is a thing where I like the looks of the bumper better, nothing wrong with the Ace product. As such, I have the following to offer to a new home. All of it came off an 18...
  19. Looks Like Ford Bronco is Serious About Taking on the Wrangler

Now I'm concerned that I don't know what offroading is. My whole world is messed up. Does this count?
  20. Rock Hard 4x4 Patriot Series Rear Bumper with Tire Carrier

I'm in the middle of this install. Had the same issue with the license plate light. I went with clear gorrilla glue. Not sure if I'll regret it or not. For those doing this, be prepared for the following: The bumper is heavy, get help Also, watch the youtube video, it helps. They don't...
