  1. Putting on a Magnuson Supercharger -lets build!

and what are you using to tune the car after the install?
  2. Livernois Mycalibrator Tune Claims 50HP Gains (on E85) for V6 JL Wrangler

flex means you can run e85 and you can run regular gas or any mixture in between. say you use e85 around town, but go on a trip and there are no e85 stations on your trip, so you fill up at station x and you have some e85 in the tank, later you fill up again with gas and now your ethanol content...
  3. Livernois Mycalibrator Tune Claims 50HP Gains (on E85) for V6 JL Wrangler

im assuming this a 'e85' tune and not a flex fuel tune. that is, when you run the tune, you need to have 100 percent e85 in your tank. it is my understanding that to run flex, you need to run an ethanol sensor somewhere in the fuel system so that i can make adjustments based on the percent of...
  4. Jeep Slotted above Rubicon

something above rubicon or something that generates a whole new level of intrest? simple.. either v8 or a massaged twin turbo v6. and i suppose it would need something like ESS or eTorgue which i would avoid altogether if possible, but make it ess and not etorque. other areas of interest...
  5. Jeep Production Plant Closes Due to Coronavirus

there are two ways to deal with this virus, one, everyone goes about their business, infection rate goes over 50 percent, probably close to 80 percent, immunity ensues, some percentage of folks that get the disease die, best guess 2 to 3 percent of those who get it. you can do the math yourself...
  6. Yes $1,000 Dollars Cash If You Can Fix My Jeep Steering Problem .

i explain like this... the design sits on a knife edge. on one side, no issues, on the other, issues with varying degrees of difficulty in fixes. in some cases, nothing works, in others, tighten that screw 1/8 turn. that knife edge is the design flaw. as an analogy, its like that bridge that was...
  7. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

the PSC kit did not resolve the wandering? i thought i'd heard that before. from everything i have read, there is no 'final solution' to fix wandering. what is really concerning is more than a few jeeps have this issue, there is no established fix that can be applied though there are a number of...
  8. Yes $1,000 Dollars Cash If You Can Fix My Jeep Steering Problem .

in the end a computer controls how much force is applied to assist the turn. i suspect there are a number of variables, temp, speed perhaps other things to are used as inputs and the output is the 'assist'. replacing the electric, computer controlled pump is theoretically the best solution. but...
  9. Why wasn't the Select Trac available on JKs as it is on JLs?

it was my understanding that selectrac doesnt 'lock' the front and rear axles. it allows some 'slippage'. this is what you want in AWD with some sort of 'intelligence' built into how that slippage happens so as to distribute the power where it is needed instead of having all of the axles locked...
  10. Why wasn't the Select Trac available on JKs as it is on JLs?

FCA needs to come up with a transfer case that functions both as an AWD and a 4WD system. Ford has this type of setup in the Raptor. AWD is better than 4WD in icy snowy type situations and obviously 4WD is superior to AWD in hardcore off road situations.
  11. tell me I need advice

gold in south america... watch out for banditos, cartels (who supposedly are big into illegal gold production down there), federalies, and mercury vapors. as to a vehicle, what you want is a toyota landcruiser
  12. The Jeep Gladiator is Struggling

this is a very neat looking vehicle with 3 things that would make it a terrible idea for jeep to build. 1, no space behind the seats, basically you get miata levels of storage, 2, the bed is too small (like the gladiator) to be useful and 3, it would cost too much. its is very cool looking though
  13. The Jeep Gladiator is Struggling

too expensive. less capable than a jl or jlu bed isnt big enough to be used like a real truck i figure folks buy these mostly because they want a jeep truck, basically a jeep that looks like a truck. in a way its like the diesel. the reason you buy a diesel is for increased towing, torque...
  14. remake

this i have never heard of. companies do engine swaps and companies will take a new car as a donor and put an antique body on it so as to keep all of the modern parts. called a resto-mod. cost would be, including the donor vehicle well over 100k. its basically like building a race car using a...
  15. Glacier drive gone wrong.

from that article... had that jeep gone under it would be like riding the titanic to the bottom of the ocean. gives me the chills.. no pun intended. There was about 4 inches of ice where the vehicle broke through, and Davis said the water there was more than 600 feet deep.
  16. Got hit today

any jeep shops in your local? i'd ask around as to who they would recommend. or if there is a local jeep community. cases like this i dont even contact my insurance company. i contact the responsible person's insurance company. and be aware.. some insurance companies will lie and tell you to...
  17. A good review on EcoDiesel Jeep JL - Savage Geese

i suspect they are looking at this somewhat how i look at it. If i could get the jeep of my choice, it would be a 2 door rubicon with a stick shift and the only option would be a 3 piece hard top. now if i want the diesel, in a perfect world, that would be an option to the 2 door. and i could...
  18. Gotta love Selec-Trac!

what i'd like to see would be a transmission that could be AWD and true 4WD. the ford raptor (and i think a few other models) have this ability.
  19. Blend Door Actuator

weird. i have a 2014 Fiesta ST. i wonder if it uses the same part. starting clicking after 3 years. i go google it and its common on fords. find the replacement at amazon. a 15$ part. order it and spend about 1/2 a day replacing it which required taking out the driver's seat and some paneling...
  20. I wish my Jeep had...

my version, chevy v8 (smaller, lower center of gravity, less weight) proRock axles, no FAD, locking hubs instead, atlas transfer case, AWD/4WD (like the Raptor). i guess i want an awd/4wd atlas transfer case...
