  1. Suggestions for Black lug nuts

Thanks for this suggestion Rhinebeck01! I've had the 66743BDX kit (one locking lug per wheel) on backorder with Quadratec for weeks. Canceled that one, ordered this kit and had it in two days.
  2. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

I just received this lasfit aux kit. The switches feel incredibly loose. Do they rattle at all or do they feel more solid once you get them mounted? I'm hesitant to even install them the way they are.
  3. Rain Gear Trail Cover (JLUR)

I'm fairly certain the cover is supposed to fit with the soft top up, not folded down. This is probably why it's not fitting properly for you.
  4. Interior cargo area panel

This might be it, verify the fitment to make sure, and there may be other pieces you need as well, you can look at the parts diagram. https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-quarter-inner-lower-panel-6bm30tx7af
  5. Oracle reverse lights wire routing from outside to inside?

I don't have these lights, but I'm considering them. There is a rubber grommet above the passenger tail light that you can pass wires through. I recently used this grommet for installing the trailer wiring harness. From there it's a straight shot under the carpet and trim up to the passenger...
  6. Racor Hoist System

Well that's definitely one way to do it... not sure how great that is for the longevity of the top, it will add a lot of stress to support the weight of the top at the RR mounting holes... the backbone is designed to transfer the weight of the rack down to the roll cage and body. Edit: but...
  7. Racor Hoist System

I've done it, would not recommend. The two main issues were that the added weight changes the center of gravity and the top will lean pretty badly, and the height of the rack means you need a slightly longer strap to go under the top or add an extra hook or something at the end to get enough...
  8. Rhino Rack Nut Dropped Down in Mount

I just removed the whole thing. Removing the casting from the pad seems like it could introduce new potential leak points. The 3d printed spacer sounds like a great idea!
  9. Rhino Rack Nut Dropped Down in Mount

This happened to me with two of the castings in my kit. The only thing that worked for me was removing them and doing what you did to glue the nut in place. Definitely gonna follow the thread to see if anybody has a more clever way of doing it that requires less disassembly.
  10. For anyone on the fence about buying deepsleep4jeeps

What do you do with your gear if you've got one of these things? Load it up on the roof rack, just store it outside next to the rig..? Seems like a really nice idea and I bet my wife would prefer this over the ground tent.
  11. The Roof Rack List (JL / JLU Wrangler)

Lots of people are running roof top tents on the JK backbone system which I believe has the same or even slightly lower load rating as the JL backbone. I haven't stumbled across a post by anyone who broke their top because they exceeded the load capacity of the JK backbone, though maybe someone...
  12. The Roof Rack List (JL / JLU Wrangler)

The platform plus the brackets probably adds another 60+ pounds of weight. My plan is to remove the platform before removing the top. There are two different types of feet available, the standard feet bolt into the mounting brackets, so you could remove the platform by removing those 6 bolts (1...
  13. The Roof Rack List (JL / JLU Wrangler)

So to run this configuration you'd just be using the two rear rhinorack mounts? Is the spacing of the crossbars on the short platform the same as the rear and middle on the long platform or do you need to modify the short platform to relocate one of the crossbars like Maximus-3 requires? Are...
  14. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Installed a matte vinyl hood blackout from @pixeldecals a couple weeks ago but took my time forming an opinion about it. Verdict: I love it! Some people have said these blackout decals make the glare worse. I don't agree but I believe I understand why they say that. The matte vinyl will diffuse...
  15. The Roof Rack List (JL / JLU Wrangler)

Just ordered through Northridge. Claims the new backbone will ship next week direct from Rhinorack but we'll see, I expect more likely it will be the week after.
  16. Poll: Sunshades, what one is best and why?

I have a JTops sunshade. It is an incredibly well-made item, and strictly considering the shade aspect I have no doubts it is beyond comparison with the Alien and Spiderweb options. The material extends far enough to the sides and back to give full coverage with no gaps, the straps hold the...
  17. Rhino-Rack JL Wrangler Products & Build [SEMA 2018 - JLWF Coverage]

According to Instagram, the Backbone will finally be available the first week of July: https://www.instagram.com/stories/rhinorackusa/ I haven't drilled the holes for my Maximus-3 rack yes but at this point I doubt it's worth trying to sell it and get the Rhinorack version instead. Kind of...
  18. Tailgate Brawlee LED light

The black plastic trim on both the top where the wire enters the top from the windshield and on the side where the wires exit the hard top are just held in by clips molded into the plastic. Push up then pull down to disengage the clips, or use a trim tool to pry them loose gently, you shouldn't...
  19. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Those tires look great. I've been debating these vs 285/70/17 Mickey Thompson ATZs, but since the Nittos come in load range C I think they'd fit my needs better. Great to hear they are working well for you!
