  1. Death Wobble / Bump Steer / Steering Issues / Drifting - RESOLVED

My 2019 JLUR was manufactured and completed on Feb. 20, 2019. Fortunately, I have had no steering and/or wobbling issues to date, even after going over bridge abutments or rough roads. Good luck in getting your Jeep fully repaired.
  2. Any reports of issues with steering in the 2019s?

I have a fully loaded stock 2019 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (4-Door) that was built on Feb. 19, 2019. After reducing the factory tire pressure down from 44 psi to 35 psi, the wandering both to the left and right disappeared entirely. Drove it cross country thereafter hauling a 2,000 lbs trailer. My...
  3. JL for a roadtrip??

I drove my JLU Rubicon (hardtop) from Maryland to Wyoming, racking up about 2,650 miles. It was a great trip, even hauling a 2,000+ pound U-Haul trailer. A very pleasant drive; no problems at all.
  4. Poll: Those of us JL owners that haven’t had steering issues from Factory

Stock 2019 JLU Rubicon (built on Feb. 19, 2019). No more wandering after reducing the factory tire pressure down from 44psi to 36 psi. Drove it from the Washington, DC area to Western Wyoming while towing a 2,000 lbs trailer after the break-in period. Vehicle now has 2,909 miles on it...

  7. Uconnect app very rarely works.... Jeepcares?

Even though I've had my share of problems even with a German luxury SUV, I persisted while they covered everything under warranty. Eventually, it did get fully repaired, even though it was extremely frustrating for me while the problem(s) persisted. As long as your vehicle is under warranty...
  8. Uconnect app very rarely works.... Jeepcares?

Sorry to hear about your challenges. Was unable to pick up my new 2019 Jeep Wrangler until April 8, 2019, although the vehicle was manufactured on February 19, 2019. Noticed that some interior lights were not working properly on the evening after picking up my new Jeep. Returned to the...
  9. New JL is a POS

Our brand new Mercedes M-Class SUV from several years ago visited the dealership about 12 times over 2 years for some major problems. Although it was covered under warranty, it was still a headache and a major inconvenience. However, on my new 2019 Jeep Wrangler JLU Rubicon, with the exception...
  10. Any reports of issues with steering in the 2019s?

May I ask your production date, if you know it? Any suspension modifications or is it still stock condition? Have you reduced your tire pressure down to 31-35 psi? I hate to ask you a silly question. Did you and/or your friend reduce your tire pressure down to a range of 31-35 psi cold? I...
  11. Any reports of issues with steering in the 2019s?

I’m truly sorry to hear that. I hope that your dealership coupled with FCA’s input, will remedy your situation. Do you and/or any Forum members know the most current or updated steering component part numbers, such as drag link, tie rod, etc.? After crawling under my Jeep, I was able to verify...
  12. Any reports of issues with steering in the 2019s?

Very sorry to see that you and some other fellow JL Wrangler Forum members are experiencing steering and/or wobbling issues. That was and remains one of my key concerns before and after having ordered my Jeep JLU Rubicon. As an update to my JLUR purchased on April 8, 2019 (built on Feb. 19...
  13. To Kill 12v Power to the JL/JLU

Once you disconnect all 3 negative terminals, what is the sequence to hook the negative terminals back up? Would it be, 3, 2 then 1? Am going away for several weeks and would like to prevent both batteries from draining. Is disconnecting all 3 negative terminals the best way to prevent both...
  14. Any reports of issues with steering in the 2019s?

Wishing you well on your second go around. Picked up my JLUR about the same time as your 2019 model. Hoping I do not encounter the wobble after a short period of time. The slight drifting that I had was resolved with input from JLWrangler forum members by reducing my tire pressure.
  15. Any reports of issues with steering in the 2019s?

A cold tire pressure for K02 tires being recommended on this thread ranges from 31 - 35 psi. At what point are K02 under-inflated, so tire starts to wear unevenly (more on the tire shoulder than crown)? “Jeepjunkie” conducted a chalk test and determined that 31-32 psi cold appears to wear the...
  16. Any reports of issues with steering in the 2019s?

Do you know what FCA’s recommended cold tire pressure is on 285-70R17 K02?
  17. Any reports of issues with steering in the 2019s?

I don’t know about your dealership, but mine volunteered the information to me and said it’d be a good idea to ensure that my system was fully up to date. One other thing—-I reduced the pressure on all four tires from 38/39 psi down to 36 psi yesterday. Very surprised, but no more drifting at...
  18. Any reports of issues with steering in the 2019s?

My JLUR (came out the factory on Feb. 19, 2019) steering is very precise with no dead spots or free play at all, but it does drift slightly both to the right and left.
