Sounds about right.
However, if its still accelerating in 3rd, I don't see the issue per se. To the tunnel, my 8AT holds somewhere around 4000rpm at 70mph all the way up and I don't sweat it. My old TJ couldn't get past 60mph on that hill no matter what gear I was in and WOT :CWL:
Having run both, the Toyo ATIII is way more aggressive than the BFG, and I've been very happy with them. In my experience, similar wet weather performance, better snow performance, similar road performance. Don't have much mud in CO to test them with :)
Not exactly the same set up as you, but closer than some in this thread. I have a Gladiator Rubicon, stock height, on 35x11.50 Toyo ATIIIs and have been very happy with that set up.
I'm a big fan of tall n skinny ATs with the 3PMSF rating for snow and wet weather performance that a lot of MTs...
Bummer, did that happen during the day or overnight? I'll have to start commuting to near 16th St here soon and have wondered about the safety of the open lots.
PS, if you ever want to sell those wheels...lemme know :)
