I have an 18JL Sport and have determined after a recent trip to CO that it would probably be a good idea that I could self rescue if necessary. What would be a good full front setup including winch that would get the job done but not break the bank?
Halogen fog lights seem to be a limiting...
There is a great deal of hiking and climbing that goes out of there. The day we were there, there were a few other Jeeps from TX and shortly we had the place to ourselves. Weather was so-so which helped.
We just got back from a month in CO. One week at Breckinridge, Grand Lake/Granby, one week Ouray/Ridgeway/Telluride. Did some lightweight trails, in our Jeep and one paid tour to Yankee Boy. Really liked Kite Lake near Alma and Last Dollar from Ridgeway to Telluride.
3 years later 6000 miles driven and at least that many towed and I still have to switch out of tow mode with the engine running transmission in N. Jeep can saw what they will....As reported early my dealer couldn't make it work per the OM.
I will not be rocking it that's for damn sure.
Not with any Jeep dealers. Back in February I did a deal with a Ford Dealer in Sweetwater. Ordered an Super Duty PU on 2/20. It still hasn't come in.
I bought mine in Lenoir City. I almost went to NC to get a better price than any of the locals were willing to do. 18JL Wrangler.
I tow an 18JL Wrangler. I doubt that you will have battery issues unless you drive for days with the lights on and don't run the Jeep..... but if you want to be on the safe side you can install something like RVi Brake 12vdc charger. It picks up power from the center pin of the 7 way plug. So...
I started this thread two years ago and to my knowledge nothing has changed. Jeep Cares, really doesn't care. I gave up attempting to get them to change their operational procedures. Obviously they have no intention to do so.
I perform the necessary steps with the engine running and yes I get...
Wish that was around 1n 18.
I used the Roadmaster harness then.
Not that difficult.
Diodes are in use.
My point. Three years in and no issues with the Jeep being towed or not.
Rvi charger works.
Really satisfied with the RVi3.
