  1. Build options changed on Jeep.com

Dealers and manufacturers are trying to increase MSRP's right now on the stuff they know they can sell. If you are parts constrained and can sell every 60k Rubicon you make without incentives, it doesn't make much sense to waste capacity building a 50k one. You're just leaving money on the...
  2. Colorado Camping

Other end in my experience. I just looked at the website and it says they are doing tours and that "Dining will return soon". Pretty sure that's a threat. I'd say nobody goes there for the food, but there's probably some weirdo that enjoys it. It's worth dropping a bit of coin for the...
  3. Colorado Camping

Cherry Cricket for a burger, Museum of Nature & Science, Red Rocks, Wings over the Rockies. Boulder has some interesting shops. Downtown is pretty meh. Casa Bonita is fun if it ever reopened, the food is absolutely horrible though. Outdoorsy stuff, just head west into the mountains.
  4. Transmission Swap Auto to Manual?

This Even on my Mustang GT with a 6-speed I had a hard time finding anyone that could actually read the listing and the rest thought I was going to sell it off for less than the offer I had from Carmax. I left the manual club for a single speed transmission and it has been far far more...
  5. Transmission Swap Auto to Manual?

I can't imagine what having a manual transmission in an automatic vin would do to the value of a vehicle. Find a used one or order a new one with the stick (or live with the automatic, it's not a horrible one).
  6. Which dealer to place custom Wrangler order - Houston Area

Might be worth a call to Helfman, I bought mine there (off the lot). I worked with Oscar Camargo and there was absolutely zero BS with dealer fees or with the finance guys. Auto Nation and Mac Haik were both trying to play stupid games with us. Most painless vehicle purchase I've ever been...
  7. Recommended places to list a 2020 Turtleback trailer for sale at?

I caught myself looking at one of those myself yesterday, they've certainly gotten a hell of a lot nicer.
  8. Windsheild cracked today, whats the approved whiney snowflake tantrum?

Certainly you should start a thread complaining about it while complaining about people that complain because complaining is a liberal thing (username checks out, spellcheck doesn't). I'm surprised you managed to turn your caps lock off.
  9. Just got home from Bronco event...

I expect the Bronco will be better on the highway with the IFS, but not having driven it yet I'll withhold judgement. I was very ready to jump Wrangler ship until I got the steering TSB done. It drives a lot better now. I can't believe how long it took Jeep to come around and fix that.
  10. Just got home from Bronco event...

Not our part of the southwest, I-20 has massive problems in Texas from oilfield traffic. But even on smooth roads it rides worse than our other cars, requires more steering input, and the noise level is much higher. Seats are fine, wish they had more bolstering. My mom has a 2-door JK and...
  11. Just got home from Bronco event...

If I were just getting a first car again, the Maverick would be very high on my list. I can't think of much at the $20-25k range that is more interesting. Ford is going to have to get that adjustable tailgate into the Ranger soon. It won't do for the smallest truck to be able to so easily haul...
  12. Just got home from Bronco event...

Subaru isn't making the Wilderness to compete with the Wrangler or even Jeep. They are having to protect their turf from Toyota/Honda/Nissan that have all decided to start making outdoorsy AWD vehicles. Honda is marketing the Passport as a adventure vehicle. Toyota is doing off-roady Rav4's...
  13. Just got home from Bronco event...

I've seen quite a few describe it similarly and I always wonder what the hell they were driving before they bought it. Tolerable would probably be a better term. It's a tiring vehicle to take on long road trips.
  14. Can your rooftop tent do this?

Very convenient for the people following.
  15. Can your rooftop tent do this?

You had to go to McCoy's like an animal. Different times. Also, I can just imagine that thing flying off in the middle of the highway.
  16. Aluminum Steering Box - Anyone knowingly opting to keep theirs?

I am so happy I got the TSB done. Drives like a different truck.
  17. A Testament to Jeeps' Toughness

The only thing in most states preventing them from selling this truck after it is repaired as brand new is a contract with Jeep or the dealer having ethics. How often do you run the carfax on a brand new car?
  18. If You're Getting Owned at The Dealership, You're Not Alone

I think people like to imagine those state franchise laws as protecting the little guy in town from the big bad wolf, but just grabbing off Wikipedia: Sonic has > 100 dealerships AutoNation > 360 Lithia > 257 Group 1 > 283 This whole thing with Tesla is mostly a bunch of other Fortune 500...
  19. A Testament to Jeeps' Toughness

For a consumer, you can fix an awful lot of damage off the value of a JL. Say that 4XE is worth 60k, you could fix 30k in damage and only be at 50%. You may not be happy getting it back with that much repairs, but if the law allows it doesn't make much sense for them to just toss out another...
  20. A Testament to Jeeps' Toughness

Maybe, but it takes a lot of damage to total a JL. And yeah, of course the other driver's insurance should cover it (assuming they have insurance).
