Had an orange 1973 CJ-5 Hustler R/T, then a black 1981 CJ-5, then a bunch of various Cherokees, then a silver 2018 JLU (which was the worst handling lemon I've ever owned), and now my 2021 JLR in NACHO. Took the back seat out as soon as I got home and am back in love with 2-door Jeeps. I found a...
I bought my 2021 JLR on May 20, 2021. On May 21, 2021 my windshield caught a rock and now, a month later, the crack is 26" wide. Gorilla Glass is available for around $1,000 but Jeep would charge $2,000 for it as an option. Why not just raise the MSRP by $1,000 (for Gorilla Glass they would buy...
This brain fade Jeep had on the design and build of the 2018-2020 JLs borders on criminal. Having owned and struggled with a 2018 JL, I have nothing but empathy for all JL owners who have ANY SLOP in the steering wheel.
Jeep knows this is a recall waiting to happen. Right now, they're doing it...
The steering wheel should be straight, not canted off at the absurd angle yours is. That's insane.
Go in and get the TSBs redone or updated, and make sure they do a reflash of the chassis computer as that's somehow linked in with the steering.
My build date was Feb 7, 2021.
If you have any play in your steering wheel, take it in for warranty correction. It could need a computer reflash or an alignment. Generally, if a car wanders or darts around on the highway it's because the toe is not set properly. If there's any cupping on the...
In 2018, Jeep came out with the all-new JL. It had, as one of many new features, an aluminum cased steering gear. It was supposed to be lighter and would work in conjunction with the new electo-hydraulic computer monitored steering system.
The aluminum steering box changed dimensions too much...
The good news is:
I traded in my 2018 JLUS for a 2021 JLR (2 dr). I got a fair deal from La Porte Jeep in Indiana.
The bad news is:
The 2018, after 9 trips to the dealer, 2 steering TSBs, a reflash, and an alignment, the on-center steering slop never completely went away. The steering feel...
I just traded my 2018 JLU in on a all-Nacho 2021 JLR. The only place in the US that had an all-Nacho JLR was 2,005 miles away. I drove the distance and received a great price on my JLU and a fair discount on my JLR.
I wanted the JLR because it weighed less than the JLU (for flat towing), and it...
Crazy colored cars = Nacho JLR
I'm 66 and all my 30+ cars have been one sort of a rental color or another. Always wanting a subdued color. Now, that orange Jeep just makes me smile every time I see it. It's just fun and different, and so not me. Get a bright color!
I just finished driving 2,350 miles in 3 days (yes, about 800 miles per day) from Indiana to Nevada in a 2021 JLR. It has the nearly useless 8.4" nav system, the front camera and the gimmicky LEDs that FCA charged $4,000 for. True, the LEDs light the road with a white light, compared to the...
The $600 front camera requires the $2,000 8.4” nearly useless nav system and the $1,400 gimmicky LED system. So, for $4,000, you get a bunch of questionable options that are begging to go bad. And the TESLA-like automatic cruise control for another $2,000. And this is... remember... a Jeep...
