  1. I have a $80k Wrangler and didn't even know it. What's your rig's final / current cost?

Just tell her the frame mounted rails cost only $100, what, it is frame mounted and it is clearly inferior, that is why it costs only $100. If it is body mounted, then it can cost up to $1,000. Warn winch? All made in China crap now, you can get one for $120. Lift kit, ppl can afford it on...
  2. I have a $80k Wrangler and didn't even know it. What's your rig's final / current cost?

What even scares me more than wife, is if my Jeep is totaled in an accident, the insurance will likely only pay me half of the "total cost".
  3. I have a $80k Wrangler and didn't even know it. What's your rig's final / current cost?

With the recent used car frenzy, my dealer called me the other day to see if I want to trade in my 2018 JLUR for $52k. I don't plan to trade but do want to run the total cost of my Jeep (vehicle + mods) just for fun. I built an Excel spreadsheet and tried my best to recollect the cost of each...
  4. FCA Spyware

Is there any place I can wrap my Jeep in tin foil, basically make it a huge Faraday cage. It will be a plus if the tin foil come with color selections, I like it to be camo so it can match my zombie surviving kit.
  5. Jeep Wrangler 4xe 70-MPH Electric-Only Range Test

Yeah, an old video I watched talk about Wrangler "Robinhood" trim.
  6. Asking dealers to not apply dealership stickers / badges?

I mean you can pretty much put on the license plate frame when you head for car wash, and take it off as soon as you get home. Probably takes 30 seconds to unscrew and screw.
  7. “Service Axle Locker System” Light On

Instead it becomes a lose - lose situation. Customer lose money to fix by himself, Jeep lose money on an entirely new axle even at cost, dealership has to swap the axle which probably takes 3-4 hours at minimum while FCA pays half rates.
  8. “Service Axle Locker System” Light On

So almost 3 years later, we still can't purchase the sensor alone, and if claiming warranty the dealer will just swap the whole axle?
  9. Why am I not doing this?

Oh boy, the preppers, who stock 20-years worth of food and water in the basement because of hypothetical SHTF.
  10. Downshift with 4.88 gears on 35s

It is possible you can correct this with reprogram the computer, or not. The sweep spot of 35 on a a JL 3.6L 8-spd is 4.56, I mean even Jeep admits it in the extreme recon package where they pair 35 with a 4.56. Most ppl do regear to 4.88 with 35, in the hopes of when their 35 wear out they...
  11. Jeep Wrangler 4xe 70-MPH Electric-Only Range Test

I always think Jeep decided to do 4xe not a full BEV, simply because right now the aerodynamic of Wrangler, combined with tires and rims not optimized for EV, will result in a miserable total range if they do a full BEV (meaning 100 kwh battery may only go 150 miles), that is simply unacceptable...
  12. 4 or 5 tire rotation????

I always do rotation as needed, whether 4-tires or 5-tires, meaning I measure the tread depth on each tires, if one wore faster than others (typically rear passenger due to gas tank and drive axle), I put it on spare. For example, right now I have Front driver 11.5/32 Front passenger 11.5/32...
  13. Are Nitto's (RidgeGrapper) true to size? Bad in wet?

Ridge Grappler is a hybrid AT/MT tire, so it is similar to Goodyear Duratrac (the original) except Ridge Grappler is much heavier than Duratrac. Toyo Open Road RT is the cousin of Ridge Grappler. Milestar Patagonia M/T is a poor man's hybrid. In general, Ridge Grappler is very quiet, and has...
  14. New Rubicon 4Xe

You won't have any issue with 315 KO2 on a Rubicon. 315 KO2 mounted on stock rim will look slightly "fatter" because of the rim width is narrower.
  15. Newbie - Totally lost on what to do with gearing

One thing to keep in mind as you going (numerically) up the gear, the pinion size get smaller and smaller. If you over gear, you Sports axle won't appreciate the extra load with small pinion.
  16. If they follow Ravian lead with independent motors at each wheel

I don't think FCA will design a very specific electric platform for Wrangler, the things you mentioned (individual motor) is good for 4x4 off-roading, but not good for other reasons (manufacturing and maintenance cost). It is more realistically FCA will adopt one of the Stellantis EV platform...
  17. Battery died and stopped in the road

I had my JL for 2.5 years, batteries are still going strong (knock on the wood). I tend to take good care of my car batteries, usually put them on charger whenever I am not using the car for a while, or whenever I am frequently using them for short trips.
  18. Jeep Teases All-Electric Wrangler "Freedom" BEV ⚡️

That is probably a little bit stretchy. I can take 200 mile EPA range with DCFC. Electrifying can't solve the box shape of Wrangler, no way it can get to 300 miles with the current battery technology.
  19. New Raptor Load Range C 37s?

Please post a pic once it is mounted, it will be interesting to see how much it "flatten" under load. Great pic for OCD people though, thanks!
