  1. JLWF gets a spotlight in an interesting article!

@DanW is that you?? :) Cool read.
  2. Will the 2018 Wrangler receive larger stock brakes?

Yes I've had some close calls myself. Hopefully even if the stock brakes are not improved it is offered on a big brake kit or tow package, as others have said.
  3. Unwrapped 2018 Jeep Wrangler JLU from production plant!

Vehicles get bigger generation by generation and rarely ever get downsized unfortunately. It's what buyers wants apparently, or at least what the companies think buyers want. Some of it is probably because the average buyer's size has been growing so they want even bigger vehicles with bigger...
  4. Wardrobe malfunction exposes JL Wrangler rear

It helps they slimmed down the third brake light and the spare does seem to sit lower on the rear bumper. That should improve how wide you need the tailgate open in order to lift up/down the rear window. On the JK it's annoying having to almost fully open the tailgate to open or close the rear...
  5. 2018 Wrangler info from FCA dealers meeting (diesel, colors, debut, power sliding top, etc.)

Great news! Wouldn't that be nice? It'd have to be a tiny window though lol :giggle: the spare takes up about half the whole height from bumper to roof.
  6. Aftermarket parts fitting both JK and JL Wrangler

I think the increased wheelbase is going to make parts like fenders and rock rails/running boards incompatible. We also know the hood and grille are longer/larger so there's another few that won't work. Hopefully JK bumpers and wheels/tires can be used.
  7. 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Hits Dealer System - 1st Official Look @ Engines, Options, Packages, Features!

"Management" system sounds more like it would be a roof rail than it does side steps or rock guards. I'm thinking more Overland focused system for different parts/accessories.
  8. Wheelbase...Will it Change in the JLU or JL?

No one knows exact dimensions yet but the prototypes look to have a longer hood to accommodate the new 8 speed auto. Plus this possibly leaked hood which is longer: Member Receives Possible Leaked JL Wrangler Hood!
  9. JL or JLU, which will you choose?

Usually the deciding factor is whether you need the extra space for people or things. If not, get the 2 door. I know I would have if I didn't have to occasionally transport family and lots of gear. Just a guess but I think they will be making the JL more comfortable overall, probably increase...
  10. Manual vs Automatic- What will you be ordering?

I'm leaning towards manual but since I'll be commuting, the new auto may be somewhat convincing if it gets a lot better MPG than the manual.
  11. First Look: Production Interior of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL/JLU!

Really like the red center dash that breaks up the black interior. Hope this means we get some other interior color combinations. Tired of the all black look.
  12. 2018 Wish List

There's also this one posted by another member. I agree with @ThirtyOne the base halogens really need to improve. it's great they have the LED option but many people now are left with a choice between forking over 500-1000+ for aftermarket LEDs (and some are in such cold climates they can't...
  13. What don't you want to see in the 2018 Wrangler?

Engine start stop system that defaults to ON with every startup.
  14. Two new spottings today

I agree with Ape, making for more a modular top design is going to make the roof easier to remove and probably cheaper overall (to build/repair) than one big slab. It's also going to lighter to remove individual panels than that massive rear portion, even if the more complex design somehow adds...
  15. Verified: LED & Interior/Exterior Lighting Features for 2018 Jeep Wrangler (JL)

Not surprised since the 2017 Cherokee (same price range as Wrangler) still has halogen headlights standard in the Sport model (w/ HID optional). Everything above Sport has HID standard though.
  16. Two new spottings today

Seriously. Manufacturers penny pinching like this with safety components is annoying. HID is still optional on the 2017 Cherokee Sport and standard on all trims above Sport. Might be what to expect for the Wrangler too.
  17. First Look: New Wrangler Roof With MySky-Like Power Retractable Top

At least we have seen this one which SHOULD be the regular Freedom top without power. If the images in the first post are really a Mysky sun roof, they managed to build it with the same roofline and everything. The rain gutter and window/door cut lines look exactly the same from what I can tell.
  18. JT (Wrangler Truck) pushed to late 2019

Jeep is projecting 100k JT pickup sales a year. Not too crazy of a projection considering Toyota sold almost 200k Tacomas and over 100k Colorados were sold.
  19. JLWF member spies red 2018 Wrangler Unlimited on highway

The cut lines on these prototypes are really throwing me off. Especially that extra "piece" of camouflage that comes straight down between the second and third windows. What could that be hiding? If we didn't get the leaked pics the other day I would say this doesn't look like it will fully...
  20. Say hi to the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JLU

I'm not sure what everyone else has in mind but for me, it's simple what they need to do with the seat backs. I want 2 adjustable positions. First is almost straight up like the current JKU back seating position. Then a reclined position of 5-10 degrees. I'm no engineer but I've taken a look at...
