No problem, I didn't take it as rude and I didn't mean to sound defensive. It can be difficult to convey meaning in a quick post. I also should have said something in my post about definitely going to to the dealer, or multiple dealers if that's what it takes.
I've got a few small bubbles on...
Unfortunately since you are beyond the 3 year / 36 bumper to bumper warranty, the 5 year / unlimited mile corrosion warranty only covers if there are holes, see attached. Others have had some success, seems to depend on the dealer.
If you have the time when you get this done I would appreciate a new thread with procedure and specific materials and parts used. I actually really like the look of the black hinges on the Sting-Gray. And as luck would have it that is my color.
I agree that this will be an ongoing issue until they change the process and/or materials. And to answer the original question, it would be too early to tell if it was more common on certain years. I took delivery August 9, 2018 (manufacture date July 2018) and noticed small bubbling October...
Gotcha. My dealer has been pretty good with the steering damper and one other small issue, but I'm not too confident they will cover the bubbles since it's not too bad yet. I'm hoping I can just get it on their radar and in a couple years when it's worse it won't be an issue.
It seems to be a crap shoot. There are plenty of people on this board that have had just the bubbles covered. But there are those that have had it denied as well. I'm going to be calling the dealer soon to look at mine, as well as my disconnected rear window defroster.
