  1. PRICE

But it may be high enough in demand at the outset to prevent it from being included in Tread Lightly discount? I've never used or researched Tread Lightly so I don't know what FCA's pattern is for excluding vehicles. Do they only ever exclude special edition models?
  2. Future JL owners - what mods / modifications do you foresee/planning (so far)?

Really love the Jeep Safari Concept like everyone else. So my mods are going to be modeled after the concept. If I get Sport model then I'll get hi-line fenders and turn signal relocation kit to the grille, lift kit, half doors, town hooks in body color or maybe different accent color. This...
  3. 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL DROPS MAJOR CAMO, REVEALING NEARLY ALL!

Fenders for sure since those exist for the JK right now. Also wouldn't be surprised to see turn signal relocation kits which include a grille with integrated turn signals like the Safari Concept.
  4. Update: 2018-2019 JL Wrangler Timeline Schedule (2DR JL & 2.0L Delay, Powertop & Diesel Dates, Etc)

Yes. Will be hard seeing 3.6L and 2.0L Wrangler JL's driving around all those months before the diesel starts production. :headbang:
  5. If Chinese company buys Jeep, will Wrangler be affected?

Now the Chinese company Great Wall Motor Co. says it's interested in buying the Jeep brand. http://www.autonews.com/article/20170821/GLOBAL03/170829942/chinas-great-wall-sets-sights-on-jeep?cciid=email-autonews-daily
  6. If Chinese company buys Jeep, will Wrangler be affected?

With news that Chinese companies are interested in buying FCA makes me think if Jeeps and Wranglers in particular might be affected? Hopefully they'd leave well enough alone and not change up anything considering Jeep and the Wrangler is the cashcow for the company!
  7. Prangler, the Prowler-Wrangler love child that was never born :)

Thank goodness the the Prangler never came to be but this mash-up is one of the kookiest ideas I've seen lol. :surprised: From Jalopnik: Pre-production mules are, by their very nature, strange, chimera-like beasts, made from whatever was handy with little regard to how they look. As a...
  8. Some good news for JL Wrangler diesel!

I'll take that even further and say that I bet a lot of diesel interested Wrangler buyers would be interested in a high-torque hybrid Wrangler.
  9. Better (not complete) Look at Taillight Shape

Interesting did not expect it to be curved in any way but glad to not see the Renegade X tails.
  10. Our Latest 2019 Jeep JT Pickup Info and Preview Images

That's because the JL basically looks like the JK except for some of the new styling from the windshield forward. Take away the JL's new side body line and fender vents (which OP says isn't on the pickup) and they look even more alike.
  11. Should I wait for 2018 Wrangler?

I know, that's what I was referring to. Expanding the Wrangler production capacity for the JL should help. Whether it translates to better quality control we'll see. I think you know what I mean. People buy jeeps for its off road performance and image among other things. They use it off road...
  12. Should I wait for 2018 Wrangler?

They've been at full production capacity for a while now. I'm hoping expanding the lines and adding workers will help with build and quality but we'll see. Some competition would definitely help. I don't think it's an issue with production or engineering processes, it's just reaching and...
  13. First Look: Production Interior of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL/JLU!

Seems like an odd shape and position for it. They're usually higher on the console closer to the steering wheel or on the steering column like these other Jeeps. But then again I've never seen the button placed on the left side of the steering wheel which is what the JL interior pics would...
  14. First Look: Production Interior of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL/JLU!

Did you catch the leaked image from a few weeks ago? Shows how much more angled the windshield is.
  15. Jeep Pickup (JT) Spied With Production-Intent Bed!

In this pic you can make out under the camo what looks like the same freedom top as on the JL/JLU? Which would mean it's fully removable.
  16. Jeep Pickup (JT) Spied With Production-Intent Bed!

Looking great. This thing is going to be so popular. But if anyone's gonna be trailing or crawling the JT, it's gonna need a substantial lift to improve the departure angle.
  17. JT (Wrangler Truck) pushed to late 2019

Ugh skipped my coffee this morning. Was thinking of the upcoming Ford Ranger  So pie isn't as big as I thought, but still over 400k midsize trucks sold last year.
  18. JT (Wrangler Truck) pushed to late 2019

That's a BIG pie you're talking about. Ford alone sells 60,000-70,000 F-150s a MONTH! Here were last year's midsize truck sales: F-150: over 700k Tacoma: 191k Colorado: 108k Frontier: 86k Ridgeline: 23k So over a million midsize trucks were sold last year alone.
  19. The End Is Here...The Beginning is Coming..

Start of a new era at Toledo! And timing is just as the plant schedule sticky laid out. According to it plant will now shut down until November to prepare for JL production.
  20. JLU rear side windows previewed on Jeep Safari Concept?

I dunno if I can make out those windows on the prototype hard top but would be a nice touch. Would let more light into the cabin and give airier feel with the top on. Had to look it up but I'd love to see something innovative like Bestop's TrekTop NX Glide as the new soft top. Don't they make...
