  1. The sound of a Kinetic Rope failure. Damage and cost..... Plus photos of the wheeling and camping.

"... probably just jinxed myself ..." Geez I hope not TED (hopefully shouting your name will unjinx it :)) As for the "cost of wheeling", I figure half as much again as the cost of your Jeep to upgrade and maintain it through a reasonable life cycle of off-roading ... but that's a flexible...
  2. The sound of a Kinetic Rope failure. Damage and cost..... Plus photos of the wheeling and camping.

Isn't that the truth !!! Cost for anything "Jeep" should never be the issue. Value for your dollar spent should be the goal. Truth of the matter is owning a Jeep and off-roading it is not a profitable, or even money saving, proposition. It's more of a cost centre with high maintenance, and...
  3. So...should I get a JK (JL simply not being delivered in Canada)?

Kind of like paying for a stripper when you really want a hooker isn't it?:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:
  4. Peasant???

and her name is KAREN !!!! ... LOL
  5. I’m so excited it arrived 😡 @ExtremeTerrain I thought I heard a C-130 overhead.

What Sparty said is correct but in addition to that, double boxing likely puts the dims in the next higher shipping volume class which at least doubles the cost of shipping, but more than likely triples it. Packages like that typically travel by LTL commercial carrier, not by courier.
  6. Do you think it's true? It is for me... but I wonder if others are just jawing and wouldn't really make the purchase. I'm talking about the...

Just gonna throw this out there ... beginning with the 2020 model year (February 2019) there is an up-charge to put a manual transmission in a Class 8 highway truck. It appears the hand writing may be on-the-wall for the manual transmission. It just doesn't mesh (pun intended) with vehicle...
  7. What is the ONE Jeep Accessory every Jeep owner needs?

I would think one of the very first things you need for a Jeep is an empty credit card with a fairly hefty credit limit ... LOL
  8. Bear Country...

They just push on the glass until it breaks, then they either crawl through the window if they fit, or just rip the door open.
  9. Bear Country...

Yep :) Yep :) I always used to take a .410 shottie with me when the wife and I were in bear country. Everyone used to laff at me and question what a .410 is going to do for me if a bear comes around. I always replied "I'm not going to shoot the bear." I'd point at the wife and say "I'm going...
  10. So this is silly...

Cops love it too ... Americans are always good for at least 1 speeding ticket each ... ROFLMAO
  11. What kind of Jeep owner are you?

@wibornz "We look forward to Canada Jeep travel as well. In 2023, the goal is up the east coast to the Nova Scotia/New Foundland area and then work our way west during the summer months. Then as it gets cold, head south following the warm weather." Take 389 north out of Baie-Comeau, QC. It...
  12. So this is silly...

Damn it ... they're onto us !!! Let's just say we're sorry, and lull them back to sleep. Check this video by Wendover Productions. It's a good explanation of the current shortages.
  13. 2'' Mopar Lift just installed and I am getting a weird clicking sound when turning at slow/crawling speed

Did you install new tires/wheels as well? If so, it's likely an offset issue and your new rubber is contacting your inner fender.
  14. Whats Your Other ride?

My other ride? ... I have several, but this is one of them ... (This is actually a stock pic from one of the dealers) Comes complete with Detroit Diesel DD-16 cranking out 600 HP and 2,050 ft/lbs of torque, turning a 13 speed, double overdrive manual transmission. Axles ... one tons are for...
  15. Whats Your Other ride?

The correct term is a Pussy Wrangler ... LOL
  16. New “Specialty” Jeeps

Was under a bit of a time constraint earlier and you have highlighted all of the good stuff :) One of the more fascinating solutions for storage is molten salt. Lithium based batteries are making huge technological leaps at an incredible pace. A brave new world for sure, and exciting :)
  17. New “Specialty” Jeeps

I'll beg to differ a little bit on that statement. You are absolutely correct that we need to replace fossil fuels. Where I differ is that we do actually have the answer in electricity, but there are three fundamental problems with electricity; 1) How do we create it without raping and pillaging...
  18. 35s with some offset kicking up rocks?

You mean like this ??? Except those are on Fuel Podiums, but the offset and backspace are the same ... Yep, they fling stuff, but in my case what comes off the front axle hits the sliders, and what's behind me is none of my business ;)
  19. What sunscreen (for your skin) do you keep in your Jeep?

I appreciate the sentiment, but don't be sorry. He's way better off now than what the benzene exposure did to him. I'm no medical expert but this is basically how it works ... by mutating your own DNA, benzene significantly reduces the body's ability to produce functioning red blood cells, and...
