  1. Post your roof racks/baskets (bonus points for supplies on them)

My roof top storage consists of: Mopar cross bars Inno Surf racks - holds up to 3 board and importantly locks - This trip, one bagged hard board and my daughters soft top! Thule cargo box. - This weekend it held, 1 beach tent, 1 beach umbrella, 3 fold out chairs, a boogie board and 3 wetsuits /...
  2. Sahara JL with 295/70/17...no lift

I’m nearly certain it would be a 17x9 with a positive +18 offset. He wanted that to keep his tires tucked into his wheel well. Almost all aftermarket 17” wheels for a Jeep application will have a 9” width. This tire / with the American racing wheel he lists in his post is something any...
  3. 2" Lift Kits for a 2018 Jeep JL Sahara

Thanks, I am on a 2” Mopar with 35”s. However, the photos you referenced show it first (profile shot) stock height on 33”s followed by lift with 33’s... I swapped out to 35’s shortly after - see below.
  4. Steering issues cured by installing new Steering gear box! (per TSB 08-074-20)

Dang - love those wheels. I have run the ProComp 7069 for years on a number of jeeps. Similar, but satin black. Those look like a like pattern in a graphite finish. Who makes those?
  5. 285/ 70- R17 BFG KO2 or Nitto Ridge Grapplers?

I have run the KO and KO2's for 30+ years in a variety of sizes and thickness. For my purposes, they have done really well in the broadest use of conditions - Rain, ice and snow + dirt and gravel. As well, I like that the size you list comes in a C Ply.. which means you get a nice soft ride...

  7. Top 10 things Jeep should have done WITHOUT.

Copied directly from a longer post that compared the JK to the JL because I continue to despise the JL Soft top design.... I hate the new soft top. I have both hard top and soft top.... To be clear, I do appreciate the new mechanism to slide it open and close... that is nice. But I have 2...
  8. Help with color choice crystal grey vs. snazzberry

Man, I think this new Snazzberry color is pretty awesome. It looks like the Chili-Pepper color that came out in 1998 for the TJ. It was my 2nd choice in 98 when I bought my Gunmetal TJ (first new car) and had this color been out 2018 when I factory ordered one of the first JLs.... I really may...
  9. Coast 2 Coast 5,147 mile JLUR Trip

Sounds like a pretty awesome and well mapped out adventure! Ive always wanted to do a cross country trek, so I'll look forward to following along. Once you arrive back in WC, I'll be certain to wave if I spot your Sting Gray JL. I am only a few miles to the south of you in Danville. If you are...
  10. Show Off Your Scenic Jeep Photos

Photos taken a week apart over the last 2 weeks... California Sunshine vs California Snow
  11. AEV JL bumpers now available

To be clear, I am not typically thrown by price... as I am willing to make my choice based on quality workmanship along with personal preference. But nearly $2500 for the front bumper alone before you even get to a winch or any lighting is absurd. Add to this, the notion that you must enter a...
  12. Looking for pics of 2" Mopar lift with 33's

I suppose. But that is a really tough sell as a cost benefit. Not simply in financial expense, but in ride quality as well. The Mopar lift or other comparable more complete suspensions comE with an upfront cost. As well, a modified suspension changes the drive characteristics and road manners...
  13. Roof rack for Surfboard

When I mounted the MOPAR cross bars I did get some very minor whistle at highway speeds. What I have found super surprising is that as I mounted the board pads and the INNO attachments... it was slightly reduced. I had anticipated that it would be the reverse. I have had other racks - notably...
  14. Roof rack for Surfboard

So after much research I went with the Mopar cross bars and the INNO surf adapter. I really wanted something that I could lock my boards as I typically trek with more than one board so that I can have the choice of which board to ride depending on conditions. Also, given that I am sitting on...
  15. Sahara grille inserts (painting different color)

These come in matt black and installed in place of the silver bezels on my Sahara. Not sure if it is the same or will work in your application. But worth a look: https://www.justforjeeps.com/6cg99tzzac.html
  16. Roof rack for Surfboard

Thanks @broncoguy - That's a good suggestion and certainly more affordable that the option I had been considering. My buddy uses the INNO rack which I like as it has a locking mechanism. But, I was just not sure if it would work with the MOPAR cross bar.
  17. Roof rack for Surfboard

X2 - Im not seeing any good suggestions in Search for surf racks. I had always suspected that I could find an attachment to work in the Mopar cross bars. Is anyone on the forum have some suggestions for boards? Mine are all shortboards... but I suspect any rack would work for most long and short...
  18. Changing out the grill inserts and fog light bezels

I think it’s fully possible to paint. It is held in with a single bolt on one side and a clip on the other. As you pry to get out, it twists and they have a tendency to crack. This happened to both of mine. You may have better access and it be easier with the full bumper face removed, but...
  19. Bob Lutz: Wrangler Will Remain the Benchmark Against New Ford Bronco

I think this article makes some really good points. I does strike me as funny how much Bronco chatter is being created on the forum. Love it or hate it, it is good for the market overall. Competition is a good thing because it forces the manufactures to not rest on their laurels and keep...
  20. 35” KO2 for my JLU Sahara

Thanks~ I shared my experience on swapping out these inserts. Its actually a relatively easy and inexpensive change to make. Wish I hadn't waited so long to make this change!! https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/changing-out-the-grill-inserts-and-fog-light-bezels.25225/#post-1095518
