  1. 255/75/17 or 265/70/17 on stock sport wheels (steel).

Evidently Jeep didn't have mine dialed in perfectly from the factory. The speedometer always read about 1 mph high with the stock tires. After installing the 255/75 tires it was right on. This was comparing the speedo to a stand alone GPS.
  2. How many people have already bought and traded in their Gladiators?

I had a JLU and liked it well enough but always felt like I was pushing my luck when hauling my 3,000 lb travel trailer. Plus there were times when I just needed more room for my camping gear. When I found out I could get a base Gladiator Max Tow without breaking the bank I jumped at it. Max...
  3. Leaking axle seal?

Well, crawled under my JT a while ago to look at spring part numbers and discovered my right rear axle seal is leaking. Less than 1K miles on it. Guess I'll be calling the dealer tomorrow.
  4. Jeep JL destruction from flat tow in 4Lo and 1st gear! Make sure transfer case is in neutral!

Robbie did my JKU LS conversion a few years ago. Great guy.
  5. Got my Vaccine....And a VERY Cool Experience!

Cool location. I have mixed feelings about the vaccine. Especially since I'm an old guy. I joined the military at 17 and did 20 years then 25 as a Cop. I've been evaluating risk for myself and others for most of my life. Covid is very low on my list of concerns. I found out by chance that...
  6. Has anybody ever regretted buying a Wrangler?

Actually no. I have regretted getting rid of a Wrangler though. I had a TJ, then a 08 JKU, later a 2019 JLU. For some reason last year I traded my JLU for a Ford Ranger. The Ranger was nice but I missed my Jeep. I did like having the pickup bed. Six months later bought a JT. Close enough...
  7. 3.6 engine and 87 octane a no-no

Well, mine runs fine on 87 octane even in the summer hauling a 3k pound travel trailer. I tried 91 octane a couple of times and did not notice any difference. YMMV.
  8. My 2020 Jeep Rubicon “JLUR” could have killed me and my family this weekend.

Wow! OP, glad you and the family are ok. Subscribed to see how this is resolved. Got to say once I lose confidence in a vehicle I generally don't have it long afterward.
  9. JLU oil change frequency

I believe that's actually the pressure relief valve spring. It's in the cap since the filter does not have one.
  10. JLU oil change frequency

Good idea. Added to my list. I also tighten this to just snug. The o-ring keeps the oil where it's supposed to be.
  11. JLU oil change frequency

I change mine every 5,000 miles with full synthetic. I consider my Jeep get severe service with off road use, travel trailer towing, etc. I've seen oil temp over 240 at times. For me it's peace of mind. These things only hold 5 qts of oil. It's easy to change and not that expensive.
  12. Any truth to this possible September steering box recall?

OP, did your dealer show you the alignment numbers? Pay for an alignment at some place that knows what they're doing. All they can really adjust is toe-in but you'll have the numbers for everything in hand to see just what is going on. You'll also be better informed to deal with the service...
  13. Wobbly drive?

I've owned my fair share of Jeeps over the years from a CJ5 to my current JLU. My JKU and the JLU are close but I have never thought the Wrangler was very good as a daily driver. They are noisy, ride and steer like a truck, get blown around on windy days and so on. Folks that buy one and...
  14. No problems with my Jeep today - Or ever!

One year and 17,500 miles with nothing major to report. Only time it's been to the dealer is for the clutch recall. It does have a couple of idiosyncrasies. Sometimes when I start the Jeep the AC will be on when I had it off and very rarely the 5" radio will turn itself off with a pop and...
  15. Gear Display - 6 Speed Manual?

Huh! Didn't know that was even a thing for MT vehicles. Seriously.
  16. Any truth to this possible September steering box recall?

Haven't heard about a recall but that amount of pull would not be normal. Mine does not do it. Road crown will cause a vehicle to drift but in the direction of the slope. I would think to the right. It could also be caused by a dragging brake. Hope your dealer gets it sorted out.
  17. Sold Jeep to Carvana today

Plug your vehicle into the Carvana website and what the offer is. You may be surprised. I also hate buying/selling vehicles and I'm glad the OP shared his experience. I would have never thought of getting rid of a vehicle that way. I'm not getting the animosity toward him. For grins I...
  18. The Pentastar Loves to Wring its Filters Out!

Yes, I know NAPA Gold is made by WIX. I was at Walmart earlier today and looked at all the 3.6L filters I could. Mopar, Fram, M1 and Supertech. Fram and M1 were made in China. I could not find the country of manufacture on the Mopar filter. Only the Supertech filter was made in USA. It...
  19. The Pentastar Loves to Wring its Filters Out!

Well, there is that. I wonder where the OEM filter is made.
