  1. Identifying Heavy-Duty Alternator

I think the HD alternator was made in Japan, and the standard one is made in Mexico, if you can see the label anywhere under there.
  2. Who actually takes their JL offroad?

Only was able to off-road once in my JLUR but it was a blast! Here’s the details: I was on my way to Starbucks for an online order pickup at the drive thru. Went to pull into the parking lot and they were re-paving the entry way. Didn’t even have to use 4WD. These Jeep’s are beasts! And the...
  3. 6.5" soundbar adapters

It takes time to get off. I remember having a hard time getting my hand into the bar to disconnect the light. That being said, you may want to take the time to do it. When you cut out the new hole, you’ll lose the ports that help with bass. This is unfortunate, but think about stuffing the bar...
  4. Help! My wife HATES my new Jeep!

Hopefully I don’t eat my own words down the road, but no Bronco for me. Not sure it would result in more room and it would be like cheating on the Jeep (that obviously I don’t have now) but still something wouldn’t be right. 2021/2022 Raptor is the goal here, depending on ADM silliness that...
  5. Help! My wife HATES my new Jeep!

This was the death decision that forced me into getting rid of mine a few weeks back. My wife and I are both taller and we had car seats in the back. No room. Not comfy. Forced my hand, but kind of agreed with her. Car seats are huge these days. We had to move our seats up to give room for the...

  7. Anyone install 6.5” speakers in JL soundbar? If so how did you do this? Any help would be appreciate

My tweeters came with brackets that snapped in place and I doubled up with some epoxy adhesive. Used a 1” hole saw to make sure the hole was perfectly round.
  8. JL resale values are insane!

Check your value on before you do this. They gave me the highest trade value for buying it outright. Just ran out of time and did the Carvana deal.
  9. JL resale values are insane!

This won’t last forever - the bottom will fall out by end of Q4 into Q1 2022. Dealers are already lowering trade values by the week based on data, so they don’t get stuck with high inventory costs as the market starts adjusting. It will be slow back down, but it’s coming. No different than...
  10. JL resale values are insane!

Just sold my JLUR to Carvana : 2020 JLUR only option was cold weather package. It was like $45k MSRP new. Had a little over 12k miles. I got it for $38,600 and sold it to them for $46,154. Put a $16k check in my pocket for the Gen 3 Raptor.
  11. Wool Wax for Undercarriage?

CRC 6026 - I have used wool wax, fluid film, hydraulic oil, etc. never had a product work as well as the CRC. Just traded in my Wrangler and did an underbody wash. Crawled under it after it dried and no rust anywhere. Applied it over a year ago and the CRC was still 100% intact. It dries very...
  12. JL Wrangler vs New Ford Bronco

You’re a Jeep or nothing guy - we get it.
  13. JL Wrangler vs New Ford Bronco

Usually hundreds if not over a thousand attend this annually depending on where the events are hosted. You can get an invite the first year via purchasing a Raptor. After that it’s usually a lottery. Lots of mini events regionally a few times annually as it...
  14. JL Wrangler vs New Ford Bronco

There are a lot of massive raptor events all over the US.

  16. How many Jeeps have you owned?

The real question: How many Wranglers have you owned and actually felt you had a reliable well engineered vehicle?
  17. Head gasket leak at 8000 miles.

Always believed that once a seal is compromised - it’s a replacement for sure. But maybe give it a try and see what happens. If it doesn’t work you’ll know within a couple weeks and then just take it back.
  18. When to wax?

Wash, iron x, rinse again, clay bar, rinse and dry, then wax - finish with chemical guys butter wax.
