  1. Delete FAD or Keep It

Depends on how much you drive the jeep on the road system...I kept mine for the benefits on the highway...RCVs for the win.
  2. Mounting ARB Air Compressor

I have air tools but I'm quickly finding that the new generation of brushless battery tools are making them obsolete....almost. Even carry a Dewalt chainsaw now in the back of the Jeep.
  3. Impressions from a 5.13 gears install on a JL Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (JLUR)

Hmm....what about the 10s of thousands of factory R/Ps sold each year they seem to do just fine without special treatment. Just don't think it's near the deal some make it out to be. With that said, It certainly can't hurt to get the break-in oil out of the diffs sooner rather than later.
  4. Impressions from a 5.13 gears install on a JL Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (JLUR)

5.13s and I see 8th but not as much as I'd like...I think with 37s or 38s it would see 8th as much as stock. With the 40s 5.38s would probably be perfect but only if I was running a 60 housing.
  5. Impressions from a 5.13 gears install on a JL Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (JLUR)

Agreed, I would stay away from 5.38s in a 44 housing.
  6. MOPAR Functional Beadlock Rings Red or Silver?

The rings definitely show up silver. I painted mine.
  7. Please Help! Swaped to 5:13 Gears, Now transfer case makes noise

Hopefully a 4.88 gear set didn't get put in the wrong box/part No. Not sure where the give would be running around with close but not equal gear sets. Scuffing of tires or transfer case...
  8. Axle Truss - When/Why would I use one?

Yes and No...post #41 page 3 of this thread has the details
  9. Axle Truss - When/Why would I use one?

I wheeled my rig on 37s pretty hard...all stock running gear. It held up good. I never would have performed all the upgrades if I wasn’t going bigger.... With that said, the performance increase I have realized by going to the 5.13s and 40s still impresses me...This jeep feels like a straight...
  10. Axle Truss - When/Why would I use one?

Makes sense loaded models are typically heavier...you’re probably more informed on the topic that I am. :)
  11. Axle Truss - When/Why would I use one?

Stock Rubicon brakes (which are larger than the Sport/Sahara) I can tell a difference but they seem adequate...at least so far.
  12. Do i need to Regear my JL RUBICON with 35 inch tires?

Rubicon, Auto Trans, 35s...no need for re-gear...IMO
  13. Axle Truss - When/Why would I use one?

Just got her wrapped up Friday but took the stock Rubicon Axle and added the EVO Truss Kit, gussets skids exc. 5.13s and RCV Axle shafts.... Was planning on an Ultimate 44 but after seeing these results so far not sure the UD 44 has anything on this build. In addition I wanted to keep the FAD...
  14. Installing JL axles onto a JK

Rubicon axle will be even wider than his JL Sahara axles.
  15. Eco Diesel and Tunes

While you have some good points try 25-50% gains in engine performance. Custom tuning a diesel is like slapping a supercharger on a gasser. Substantial gains are made performance wise. There are other benefits as well. The modern emissions systems create excessive heat and egts. In addition...
  16. Mopar Beadlock Weight and Spec Questions

I also weighed a Mopar Beadlock wheel without the ring and it was approximately 34 lbs. 37-38 lbs is about right for a true beadlock nothing abnormal there. I ran the beauty rings for about 6 months and they took a beating but at least protected the wheel. Running the beadlock rings now. So...
  17. Looking for pics of JLUR with 3.5 inches of lift and 37s

    3.5 Gamechanger w/ 37 Cooper STT
  18. JLUR on 37s regear 4.56 or 4.88

This ^^^ I really want to go 5.13s but I think I'll stick with 4.88s to split the difference.
  19. Impressions from a 5.13 gears install on a JL Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (JLUR)

Didn't know about the break-in procedure and agree he was indeed wheeling hard. With that said, I would expect a stock axle shaft to go before a R/P starts breaking teeth. They did have some twist in the splines but the axle shafts were still functioning and I'm pretty certain they hadn't...
  20. Impressions from a 5.13 gears install on a JL Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (JLUR)

I’ve been debating this R/P strength issue for some time. I’ve read 5.38s are relatively weak in a 44 housing. So I assume the 5.13s probably split the difference (regarding strength) next to 4.88s. Kevin (Litebrite) Lost a Ring Pinion running 5.13s on the stock 44...and I’ve read the stock...
