I did think about a tailgate mounted system that seems to be very popular but they are SO expensive IMO. I had not thought of a swing out carrier that's also attached to the bumper. I've seen a few but the design and work involved is a good bit more extensive I feel. I built what I knew I...
Day 2 and completion.
Again, I'm not a fabricator nor welder. This design won't win any awards but I've already put close to 300 miles on it. No rattling or shaking whatsoever. I do plan to attached my pull pin on the spindle end of the bumper to hold it open if the jeep is on an incline. I...

This is my first attempt at building a tire carrier so bear with me. I am not a professional fabricator nor welder so please keep that in mind.

Thanks for the replies.
FYI in case anyone else goes this path.
LOD had exactly what I needed and sold it to me even though it's part of their bumper/carrier combo kit and not listed as a separate part on their site.
Quick call to confirm what I needed (It's 10" BTW) and they processed...
I'm building a tire carrier for my existing rear bumper and need an extension wire for the backup camera. Does anyone have any sources or links to what our pin/connector type is for the JL?
37" Maxxis E rated. I run around 18-20 on road and down to 8-10 offroad.
Before all the hate comes for such low PSI, believe it or not 18 PSI on the road and I still do not contact the entire cross section of tread. I've done the dirty tire (same as chalk) test on my shop floor. Drives and...
I kept the bumpstops on the axles bc they worked just fine for my tires/lift size. I do have the rear extended sway bar links as well. Forgot to put that in the post. sorry.
So in short, the only thing missing from RC's kit which MSRP's for $499 for the Rubicon is the bumpstops.
How do you like the 40's on the stock axles? Any issues so far? I know a lot of people will advise against it but these axles are pretty tuff. I'm considering bumping up from 37's to 40's but hesitant bc I don't see many doing it. I'd love some feedback if you're willing to...
I wish I had taken a picture but I was in a hurry due to incoming rain.
I hauled 15 80# bags of Quickcrete in the cargo area of my JLUR. Needless to say it was squatting a little. It handled the load a lot better than I thought it would being lifted on 37's.
Over the weekend.
MotoBilt rear bumper to match my front bumper
MotoBilt rocker guards to replace the factory Rubicon rails.
The paint did not come out as good as I'd have liked bc of the humidity. I might take them off later and repaint them.
Not today but just now getting around to uploading the pics from the weekend.
Motobilt front bumper, Warn winch, and Metalcloak control arms. The MotoBilt rocker guards and rear bumper are ordered and coming soon.
