  1. 392 vs Diesel

Do you want horsepower or low end torque? What better suits your Jeep and the way you’re going to use it? It’s important to understand the difference. Diesels have great torque but low RPMs, power to climb the rocks and push the brick-on-brick airframe into a headwind and up a mountain with...
  2. Glad I got the black plastic wheel Fenders

Stop this. Jeeps are supposed to have scratches on the fender flares, just not from mailboxes...
  3. Just got home from Bronco event...

We should always hate what’s the most similar but different. For example, I have a Rubicon, so I hate Sahara’s. The Bronco will provide us a new wonderful thing to hate for all Jeep owners. Yah!
  4. Dealer in SoCal asking 30K over Sticker for 392!?

Think of the extra money as buying additional time. It’s upfront time with the vehicle. The 392 MSRP is quite a bit. An extra $30k?!? For me, that might be worth it if I had a terminal disease and six months to live... How about the diesel? It’s really fun to drive but not a drag racer. I’m biased.
  5. New 2021 Horrible Experience. Does FCA Even Care?

Exactly!! Having been through many similar issues in the past with an incompetent dealers, I can say this post is spot on. A body shop is needed to fix the weld bump. The dealer won’t have a clue. The lift is not very difficult to install as long as the tech knows how to do it and takes the...
  6. What’s something it took you a while to notice on your Jeep?

You’ll be back. Everything’s crap these days. But this crap is more fun...
  7. Just got home from Bronco event...

‘Better’ meaning smoother ride. Agree. But to me, that’s not better since it’s so boring. Exactly. Can’t even get ‘truck feel’ from a truck anymore. Also true. If you don’t like bumps, IFS all the way. Two paths for anyone buying a new vehicle: 1. Boring sedan ride with lane keep assist for...
  8. Just got home from Bronco event...

All we have to compare so far are specs and appearance. Clearly the way it looks will affect how it sells, but what about the way it DRIVES?? I have not driven one, but I suspect the IFS will yield the smooth ‘sedan’ driving experience of every other new car today, even pickups. Some will...
  9. JL Wrangler vs New Ford Bronco

So many perspectives... all good. Here’s mine: 1. Solid front axle = Handles like a big toy truck and super fun to drive on and off road 2. Independent front suspension = Handles like a sedan with some more weight (Perhaps I need a test drive, based on driving an F150/Expedition) **For #1, add...
  10. JL Wrangler vs New Ford Bronco

Much of the obvious has been stated already. So I will make only two points: 1. IFS will drive like everything else on the road. 2. Jeeps are very different and fun to drive on road and incredibly fun to drive off road due to the solid front axle. Bonus: If you like cars with lane keep...
  11. Two JLs, BOTH Leaking Oil

Dealer replied after I sent them my photos in the first post. It’s one of two possibilities: 1. Lubricant from the factory for it’s long wait on the dealer lot. 2. A small bit of oil that weeps through the seals. The seals are always wet, and some oil may weep through especially during long...
  12. Two JLs, BOTH Leaking Oil

Appointment at the dealer on Monday. Will report back on result.
  13. Two JLs, BOTH Leaking Oil

It does to me. If it cleaned up like oil, then It’s probably oil. I don’t believe there should be any residual from the factory since it should be filled after it’s put together. Do they all weep?
  14. Two JLs, BOTH Leaking Oil

We have two JLs. Both have the Ecodiesel engine, and both are wet under the engine/trans. No drips but clearly wet. Less than 3000 miles on each. Any thoughts to help me before going to the dealer? Here are the two:
  15. Stock Jeep Support Group

If I were to start modding, I would be in the first group, right?... right?
  16. Stock Jeep Support Group

It’s normal to have impure desires. Sometimes we even lose control and act on them. It doesn’t mean we’re bad and can’t change. There’s no reason to try and modify your appearance just to fit in. You don’t need to be in those other forum threads. Now there are those who will tell you that your...
  17. Stock Jeep Support Group

Something really great about this picture.
  18. Accidentally left EcoDiesel idling super long

The manual says to idle for a period of time after heavy load to cool things off. Don’t worry about it.
  19. Stock Jeep Support Group

Almost fell off the wagon today. Fortunately, the diesel lifts are out of stock everywhere. Maybe if I buy a soft top it will keep me busy for a day or two...
  20. Stock Jeep Support Group

These people posting here would show up at an AA meeting with a scotch in their hands, or a PTSD support group and set off fireworks... Now then, how big of a tire can I put on and still call it ‘stock?’
