Still waiting on a radio ordered March 15. Called dealer, not much they can do. Wonder if the chip shortage is playing a part, but they’re still making Jeeps so I guess the folks with defective units are not a priority.
Pro tip: I stay far enough behind the vehicle in front of me so gravity can let most of the windshield-chipping projectiles 🪨 fall harmlessly to the ground.
Congrats on the new Rubi!
I’m enjoying my 2019 JLUR with an unblemished, stock windshield (knocks on wood)
As soon as I heard the 3.0 was likely Auto-only, I bought a 6-speed. The complexity of that Diesel engine and auto trans combined was enough for me to get the stick. The 8-speed is a great choice, though, but it just came down to what I felt most comfortable in. Love the six forward gears, but...
I’d wait on the manual Willys for sure. I’m just not a fan of leasing. I bet most 3.0 engines preform as intended, however, If you lease, ask for a service history and car fax report to see if there has been any trouble with it.
Before the pandemic, I drove a beater to put the miles on it and saved the Jeep for the amazing top-down weather days.
Now my JLUR is two years old with about 15k on the odometer.
I bet the vast majority of 3.0 Jeeps perform as intended, but man I wouldn’t want one of those lemons for sure.
Agree with what Chief_Dan said. Door-off wheeling through a tight spot is easier without mirrors slapping against trees, boulders, but I get the point about needing mirrors to be street legal.
Jeep recommends doors-off riding only for off-road, but you need mirrors for the ride to the off-road...
That eu 2000 on eco mode is so quiet that you can basically stand over it and have a normal conversation with someone. I used it during a hurricane to run the fridge, recharge batteries, run fans, lamps, etc. I also bought the jumper clips and have jump started cars and riding mowers.
What I love, despite all the recalls, is how capable Jeeps are with the ground clearance and just 4Hi. Knowing you can put the top down, pop a curb and go your own way is peace of mind you just don’t get from most other pavement pounding vehicles.
I’m disappointed with the factory 8.4 that no longer navigates my 2019 with 14k on the odometer. Dealer has ordered a new radio, just like those in this thread:
Love the radio and interface, but apparently there is a rash of air...
The update that makes you need a new radio. Sounds about right for this new and improved model, with all the recalls and steering issues. I’m mean, this was supposed to be the off-road GOAT I passed down to my son when he’s old enough to drive. Jeeeesh, come on with the problems already. I’m...
