  1. JL Overland Alarm Goes off on it's own

Damn blast hellfire! My alarm went off three times after 11pm last night!!! FFS To dealer tomorrow... <sigh>
  2. JL Overland Alarm Goes off on it's own

Only aware about pressing once to lock the car and set the alarm - and pressing four times to just lock the car without setting the alarm. Recently had 'alarm' light glow red when I started the car and stay lit for 20 seconds (it should go off right away when you unlock the car). Back to dealer...
  3. Security light stays on for 20 secs after I start the car...

Success... well a successful diagnosis anyway. Have been advised by technician that it signifies that one of the alarm sensors is not communicating with the alarm control. In dealer next week to check which one... and then hopefully get a replacement ordered. So now we know.
  4. Security light stays on for 20 secs after I start the car...

C'mon! All this collective brain power in the Forum... someone must know what it means before my dealer gets round to it...
  5. Security light stays on for 20 secs after I start the car...

Just started happening. (It's the small red lamp bottom right of the rev counter). It happens if the alarm is set or not - and stays lit (not flashing) for just over 20 seconds before going off. No other warning lights come on and the car drives fine. Any ideas what it means / why it happens...
  6. Can anyone identify this part?

Many thanks. Part refitted. Jeep goes much better now...
  7. Can anyone identify this part?

Mystery solved. Many thanks all... though that parts pic seems to be from a Latvian parts guide! How did you get it?
  8. Can anyone identify this part?

Many thanks. Dark here now so will look at first light!
  9. Can anyone identify this part?

It's from a 2019 Overland (UK model). I found it in the driver's footwell this afternoon. Part number inscribed is 6AS28R4. Car seems to drive fine without it ;-) Thanks! Mark
  10. JL Overland Alarm Goes off on it's own

Forgot to update everyone. Car went in mid April (was away at the time so it didn't matter). All sensors and the controller were replaced. Got car back May 11 and all seems OK - apart from it going off randomly one night when it pissed down. Keep 'em crossed. Anyone know about an official recall...
  11. JL Overland Alarm Goes off on it's own

What happened was that the alarm went off again. Three times. Have emailed dealer and jeep asking about a replacement vehicle...
  12. JL Overland Alarm Goes off on it's own

Just got mine back after ten days and a visit by Jeep technical and the alarm company. Mine was one of three with issues. Sensors were ‘desensitised’ and car was checked each day to see if the alarm went off after that. I’ve got the Sky one touch roof so not sure if that makes it more...
  13. JL Overland Alarm Goes off on it's own

Mine’s currently in the dealer. Case raised with Jeep and they sent a technician and alarm specialist to investigate. Three sensors replaced and the log is being checked in the mornings to see if the alarm was activated at all. Will report back... PS another JL was in for the same problem.
  14. JL Overland Alarm Goes off on it's own

Car was in the dealer for four days. at first a faulty sensor was diagnosed. Then this was deemed OK - and instead they said the sensors were not fitted on the brackets properly. Got car back yesterday. All OK until today.. The alarm went off on its own twice! Have written to dealer asking them...
  15. JL Overland Alarm Goes off on it's own

Spoke too soon. Alarm went off at 3.30am and 3.45am... definitely not the wind as it had been armed and OK during really heavy gales beforehand.
  16. JL Overland Alarm Goes off on it's own

Car went to dealer on Monday and they diagnosed an over-sensitive alarm sensor that was being set off by the wind. They dialled this back (dealer has to do it) and tested it with an air line and it seems OK now. Given the wind strength lately I think the issue would have come up again by now...
  17. JL Overland Alarm Goes off on it's own

Got my Overland 2.2 yesterday… managed to wake up the street four times between 3am and 5am... Apparently a new sensor bracket is needed. I wonder if it is something to do with dampness/ water as it was fine during the day - but went off when it was damp in the early hours - and stopped doing it...
  18. Phonebook sorting

K Just posted the same question… did you figure it out?
  19. Changing the way contacts are displayed (8.4" Uconnect)

I'm sure I've seen this question here - but with no answer. So here goes again… How do I change surname/first name to first name/surname? Or vice versa. Thanks
  20. 4 sleeps to go...

Will do! Have spent a disproportionate amount of time on this forum getting worried about instrument clusters needing replacing or death wobbles. 4 sleeps to go... but broken sleep worrying!
