  1. Squadbox Install

These latches clickety-clack, if you don't have the front or top covers installed: It doesn't bother me, but my fair lady in the front right seat asks, "What's that click-clack noise? Did you break something?" So, to silence the clacking (and her), I put these polyethylene foam cozies around...
  2. JL Door-off mirrors recommendations

The scooter mirrors are...cute? I swear I don't mean that in a condescending way. Do the scooter mirrors work with tube doors? The CMM work great with tube doors, and don't stick out too far.
  3. What kind of socket do I need?

I don't think that's a lock, the splines look evenly spaced? To me, it looks like a 10-spline socket is needed. There's at least two sizes: I'm not endorsing this site: https://www.brandsport.com/10-spline-lug-key.html, they just provided the picture above. What kind of wheels did you get...
  4. Wrangler 392: Looking to haul more than ass

Suggest changing the thread title to "Wrangler 392: Looking to haul more than ass".
  5. Anyone else stalling their manual Jeep trying to reverse in 6th gear?

I've owned a variety of 6-speeds, German, Japanese, and American, but none of them had a reverse lockout collar like the Wrangler, so it's a novelty to me, and I haven't mis-shifted when trying to back-up. But I understand the issues with muscle memory. I have tried to push a non-existent...
  6. What color is this? Is this color available for 2021-22?

So, to sum up, the answers to the original questions are "Sting Gray" and "Yes." But let's ask the real questions on everybody's mind...when is Anvil coming back? And will it replace Sting Gray in the color line-up? :) Trucks look good in Anvil; Check out this video of an old Dodge truck in...
  7. Lange Gen 2 vs Toplift pro hardtop removers

For me, the TopLiftPro was the only one that could easily fit in my little garage. And when I move houses, it's going to be easy to move. I liked the portability and lower price of the RollNJack, but since the rear window can't be closed, it'd be tight in my garage. All the garage hoists/kits...
  8. You might have a "mall crawler" if.....

I have had strangers tell me, "Sweet lookin' Jeep!" but they've all been luxury SUV drivers, like Land Rover LR3 and Audi Q SUVs, so since it appeals to that crowd, that's how I know I have a mall crawler (Sahara), AKA redneck G-Wagon. The only off-roading my Jeep is slated to see in the near...
  9. Jeep started without key fob close by?

Radio transmissions are sometimes screwy, I guess it's theoretically possible to get an (un)lucky bounce or interference adding up to amplification of a signal. https://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/security/a29835980/technology-theft-rfid-bluetooth/...
  10. Is there a market for Sport takeoffs?

There's absolutely a market for take-off parts. Is it a large or hot market? Absolutely not, but I guarantee you, there's someone, somewhere out there that is willing to take them, por gratis, or wants to buy your parts for a bargain price, just like what Shots said. I think people also look...
  11. New wheels are making the back up sensors go wild.

Its expensive and heavy, but the Teraflex Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount Kit allows you to not only raise the spare, but snug it close to the tailgate. You might be able to use the stock OEM bump stops, or failing that, you can use the JK OEM bump stops which are longer.
  12. Can I keep the door hinge bolts out for daily driving when the doors are on?

Absolutely, but a lot of folks cap the door hinge bolts with something like this to keep mud and crud out of the hinges: Look on Amazon or eBay for "jeep door pin guide hinge". JL and JK use the same size bolts.
  13. Rug wearing out by gas pedal

It may actually reach a point where it apparently stops wearing or there's no more pile to wear away, and you're left with the mat underneath...called weft? I had a couple of old cars where the carpeting or floor mats would wear to the point where there's no more piling, but the carpeting or...
  14. Trail damage while Mall Crawling *video

Cool, I have that exact same bumper.
  15. Squadbox Install

If you point those un-cut bolts away from the center of the Jeep, the thread side hits the plastic surrounding the subwoofer. If you cut the bolts, and then similarly point these shortened bolts away from the center of the jeep, the nylock nuts will hit the plastic surrounding the subwoofer...
  16. Leaky exhaust?

You have a leaky muffler by design - nearly all mufflers have a weep hole. My Wrangler has the stock exhaust, and it has staining like yours.
  17. Squadbox Install

These bolts stick out about 1/4", I only bothered noticing and doing something because they chewed up the pool noodles I had in the back. After a bit of de-installation, I pulled these two bolts out and cut them down 1/4". I think a 1/4" was a little too much, probably should've just cut...
  18. When my cell phone rings through my stereo it sounds like the world is coming to an end

Is it because your other girlfriend is calling? Happens to me all the time. Just kidding. Actually, my girlfriend calls my old Chevy my other girlfriend. I think the Jeep is just a friend.
  19. Should I remove my rear tire?

The last three flats I've gotten (on two different daily driver vehicles), I've plugged up the hole in situ (didn't even take off the wheel) with rope plugs and re-inflated. I know it's not recommended, but I drove the tires to replacement with those rope plugs, and didn't bother patching them...
  20. Normal indent in exhaust?

Yes, that's normal. Question is...what's it for? Complete conjecture here, but I think it's intended to stiffen the pipe right there. I never bothered to actually look at the exhaust system closely, but when I think about it, maybe Jeep used thinner walled pipe to lighten the exhaust system...
