  1. EcoDiesel versus 392 - pulling power?

Vehicle tug of wars are dumb. That being said, the Diesel wins this one hands down with equal setups. Same tires and same height of attachment points.
  2. Regear for Ecodiesel - What Ratio

I'd prefer to regear, but it is in no way necessary IMO. Plus I'm thinking I'll wait until these disposable axles have a problem. Ratio change with the axle upgrade FTW.
  3. Testing out an Edge Products Insight CTS3 Digital Gauge Monitor. It's got potential!

Nope, it went back in the Ford. I tried contacting Edge a few times. They finally sent me a response that said something like "If we decide to support this particular model we'll let you know." Seems silly that they wouldn't assign this to someone on their team. I'm sure it would be no trouble...
  4. Man, I really love my new Jeep

The 3.0L and 8 speed Auto is a pretty sweet combo! I mean if it came in a 2 door manual I'd be screaming "TAKE MY MONEY!" But even as a 4 door auto, I have very few complaints. I don't envision myself buying another spark ignition Jeep ever.... ^^^That might be a little bit of an exaggeration...
  5. 2nd time out, 2021 diesel more issues

So much for this being on every dealers pre-delivery checklist!
  6. EcoDiesels in the wild?

I met up with another member from here that had a 3.0L, but that doesn't hardly count. However a few weeks ago I did spot one ahead of me in traffic. Went and caught up with him and followed him to what I assume was his in-laws. Same as me he was driving his wife's Jeep :like: Nice folks. Chit...
  7. Southeast fuel shortage...

A picture of a diesel Jeep being filled with diesel, posted in the 3.0L diesel forum, turns into a thread about electric vehicles being awesome....why not :like:
  8. what causes an active regen to stop prematurely?

Well, sample of 1 here but my wife does almost exactly the same. 5 miles one way same amount of time. No problems. She has missed that the Jeep was in regen several times. No issues. I've told her on her way in to work if a regen starts she can deliberately shut if off. Again no issues. I'd...
  9. Do women’s recovery gloves exist?

You should try a pair of leather gloves. Leather has been getting the job done since man discovered how to stitch it together. Could also look at Kevlar or Dyneema, but give me leather for handling steel cable. Looks like you probably don't have much to choose from up there, but down here in...
  10. what causes an active regen to stop prematurely?

What are the speeds she drives to and from work? It takes my wife 12-15 minutes to get to work. Speeds 25-35 mph. On occasion a regen can perfectly fit into the drive and be completed. But often she has to 'go drive around'. If you have a monitor it isn't that big of a deal. IIRC her Jeep...
  11. Throttle enhancers

The one on my Ford does in fact actually make it faster, by allowing you access to more throttle sooner. I have tried to scoot across an intersection a couple times with it off and it is scary. You just kinda loaf on out there and it ever so slowly lets you build up speed. With it on, you'd...
  12. Throttle enhancers

Go do (5-10) 0-60 runs and average them out. Then do the same with 1/4 mile runs. Then turn your thing there off and tell me if the times are any worse. I can't tell you how your Jeep reacts, but I know mine gets it. I mentioned that I have one of these throttle deals on my 6.7L Powerstroke...
  13. Full throttle shift points?

That's actually really late. I don't see a reason why they would set the shift points so deep into the RPM's? The way I understand it is that if peak torque is 1850 RPM you want the shift to take place there or just beyond it at say 1900. Whatever the transmission can handle really. <<< Just my...
  14. tailpipe

Couple guys have and they reported no sound change. No other adverse affects either that I recall. I'll probably do it at some point.
  15. Low fuel warning

I almost never let my tanks get close to empty out of habit. At some point I'll have to let ours go down low so I can know what to expect in an emergency. 10 miles to empty vs 4 gallons to fill is definitely out of whack. Curious to see the replies you get here.
  16. Oil Change...debacle

Speaking of time, what is yours worth? Most people have to wait around with their vehicle (often they can't get you in and out). And if they choose not to wait they have to get a ride and come back. Then if an issue does in fact present itself you have to deal with that nonsense. No thanks...
  17. Oil Change...debacle

The 3.0L takes special oil (I believe this to a point). Dealership service departments have been botching this simple job in many ways: using the wrong oil wrong amount of oil loose install of cap or plug not waiting for oil to drain completely (per Jeep/FCA, this is a no for the 3.0) improper...
  18. I’ve decided to regear

You are absolutely correct. I am using an 5W-40 API SN low ash oil designed for diesels with exhaust after treatment.
