  1. Has anyone broken their gutters with their roof rack?

There have been various threads over the last 3 years about the load limits for gutter-mounted roof racks. FCA or Stellantis or whoever they are this week put a meek 100 pound limit in the 2018 Owner's Manual, likely due to the plastic/fiberglass gutters, but that doesn't say if that is a limit...
  2. Cargo net?

The Raingler product line looks to be top quality in materials and workmanship--and strong. Anyone know if the Raingler Ceiling Attic Net will work with the Sunrider? Wait, I'm not crazy, there's a method to my madness: The Ceiling Attic Net might be a way to put one or two Harbor Freight...
  3. Rear license plate?

I have steel bumpers, but in PA we have only a rear license plate. I had the warping license plate issue the OP mentioned, so I tried drilling lower mounting holes. Must have been a dull bit, as it didn't go anywhere. I don't remember which solution I chose, but a small strip of self-adhesive...
  4. Bag of stuff

Also amazing how many times this same question has been asked. Hey, FCA, maybe a simple label on this mat would help your customers identify its use! Or a label on this bag of tricks to identify its contents and uses. While I enjoy and have learned much from this forum, FCA customers shouldn't...
  5. Hit a deer doing 70mph :(

Wow, that's roughly a 33% increase in deer collisions from steady 2014-2016 to 2018! Do Maine game management people attribute this to anything? Could the deer population grow that much in 2 years?
  6. Can Gladiator be ordered with matte finish?

If you wash and wax weekly, you'll have a nice glossy finish. If you don't wash it except for maybe once a year (excluding hosing off mud and winter salt), there is a, well, kind of patina that develops. Not quite as classy as the matte finish in the photo above, but at least it's "natural."...
  7. Help With Identifying Where Rainwater Is Coming From

I recently found the area below my WeatherTech Driver-side mat wet--at least very damp--as you describe. There are no holes in the WeatherTech mat other than the two "snaps" that hold the mat to the carpet. The drain plug was tight, no signs of leakage. No dampness on the sides or back of the...
  8. JL Cargo Area Lighting Upgrade

Remember that the power to the rear power socket is "programmable" to be hot all the time (default from factory) or hot only with ignition on. This may impact one's decision to install a separate on/off switch for the auxiliary light. Programming this function is by swapping fuses between F43...
  9. Anyone having issues with clutch engagement and feel?

When they did the clutch recall--which was really a 4,000 rpm pop the clutch and see if it stalls test (mine stalled, no free clutch parts)--I found out the clutch is actuated hydraulically with brake fluid shared with the braking system. (!!!!!) Sponginess could be air in the lines, just like...
  10. Mopar JL Wiper Blade Revision

Bought Bosch ICON 16A wiper blades last year from Amazon at $10.02 each. In August. Couldn't have been happier with their performance and price. Maybe I waited too long, this year in October they are $24.99 EACH!!! WT you-know-what??? Sometimes Amazon automatically raises prices to match other...
  11. Another Dealership 6 quart “Free” Oil Change.

I, too, was a victim of 6 quarts in my JL with the first oil change two years ago. The oil level was above the plug and onto the wire. I had to print out pages from my pdf owners manual to prove to the Service Manager that 5 quarts were the new standard. He did do a whole new change. After that...
  12. 2021 Jeep Wrangler Now Include 3 Years of Jeep Wave Care Program (Free Maintenance)

36 month maintenance included kind of parallels BMW et. al., especially applicable to leased vehicles. Maybe European influence on FCA? Before some of you snicker, what is Ford or GM offering? (However, you MAY, no you are ENCOURAGED to snicker at 2020 GM/Nikola maintance packages...) ;)
  13. QTDDTOT: Questions that don't deserve their own thread

I don't like to make waves, but: The drummer, er, cow-bell boy is suffering from parody, sarcasm, or trolling. Not sure which. Need more data... Help!
  14. Jumper cables: Need to buy some new ones. Recommendations?

Adding to Chocolate Thunder's comment: In the "length long enough" category, if you park nose-in in a garage--especially a one-car garage, you want at least the length of the vehicle to be jump-started plus say 4 feet to reach the battery in the starting vehicle you have parked nose-to-tail...
  15. Removed the engine cover.

Some forums have members who ruthlessly state "Pictures, or it didn't happen..." But I'm nicer than them. (The pictures of the crated engine on page two show only clothed and "half-nekkid"--the cover is only half off. I'm looking forward to seeing a nekkid motor "in the bay.")
  16. Smell from the AC

If you have a 2020 this would certainly be a warranty issue, IMHO. Perhaps the drain got clogged, leading to moisture retention, a wet filter, etc. In a vehicle long ago with a similar problem my dealer unclogged the drain and sprayed some sort of cleaner into the vents that cleaned the fins and...
  17. Need help. Trying to keep radio on at drive-in.

I would think it would be preferable to do this trick in ACC rather than RUN. I suspect that all the computers, brake circuits, etc. would be energized in RUN mode, meaning more battery drain. In ACC mode, (hopefully) only the accessories in use would be draining the battery.
  18. Bottle opener?

Thanks, Encino Stan. Guess I just read right past that. I'm so used to calling my JLUR a hardtop, I really didn't think of the Sunrider as being a soft top--but that's exactly what it is, and a great accessory at that! (Hmmm. 2/3 Hardtop, 1/3 Softop. Does that mean I'm driving a hybrid and can...
  19. Bottle opener?

Thanks, Rich/Tru-Trac, that picture helps a lot. From Artec's website I had zero idea that it mounted where you have it. Now I have to look at that spot on my Rubi when it's light outside... I have installed the Bestop Sunrider, so I don't know if that will be an issue... Thanks, again, the...
