  1. Water leaking inside my 2021 Wrangler

I see there’s a drop of water on the lip of the mat in the bottom right corner of the photo. To me, since that’s the highest point of the water, it’s coming from somewhere above that. There’s no way the water is travelling up from the bottom of the floor mat. If you opened the passenger door...
  2. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

That’s two recent instances of panels being replaced vs repainted. Interesting.
  3. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

I toured the local Jeep dealer this morning. They had about 5 used JLs on the lot and every single one of them had this issue to varying degrees. The worst I saw was on a punk’n Sahara that where the corrosion started from the hinge and carried about 3 inches inwards today’s the center of the...
  4. Bad U-joints already?!

interesting. Are you in 4WD when you do you’re spinning tires around corners and such? The only thing I can think of that would wear them out prematurely is turning on dry pavement in 4WD.
  5. Factory Half Door Installation Video For JL / JLU / JT

So I assume the black screws that hold the hinge to the door are that way to allow customers to adjust initial alignment of the hinges upon first install? After installed you tighten them and that should be it? Seems kind of odd to me...
  6. Getter ready to order new wheels and tires but I'm questioning myself again

They’re actually a shorter tire than 255/75, but slightly wider. I have them in a KO2 on my JK now but noticed KO2 can now be had in 255/75. I’m not sure what I’ll do next. The KO2 has worn really nice but ones been a bugger to keep balanced. I would like to go 33” but OP brings up a good point...
  7. Getter ready to order new wheels and tires but I'm questioning myself again

I really like those rims. They remind me of AEV Salta wheels at a much nicer price. Another suggestion regarding tires: What about bumping up the size to a 285/70/R17? It would give you a bit more of an aggressive look. You can get that size in an LT load range C in the KO2 or Falken Wildpeak...
  8. AEV JL bumpers now available

Part of me thinks the high price is to offset the continued limited supply of them they’ll have throughout covid. They need to make their money back from R&D and if they can’t produce as many due to supply issues, the cost will go up on the ones they can sell.
  9. Swaying issue after new rims and tires

Check lug nuts. Additionally are the new rims hub centric? If not, one may be slightly off center on the hub. I’m not sure what everyone’s thoughts are on hub rings, but they seem like a good idea to cut the difference between the hub bore and the bore on the rim

  11. Overlanding question

It's definitely a trend, but not without real interest. Overlanding, especially during times of Covid are becoming very popular. I prefer Overlanding to strict off-roading as crawling around on rocks and through mud all day isn't really of interest to me, but using my vehicle's capability to get...
  12. Jeep Concept Teased Ahead of SEMA360 Reveal

It's got the PCOR system, similar to what Expedition Overland has on their JT. I wonder if they had any input into this concept. It wouldn't surprise me as they also put a recent off-road concept together for Lexus.
  13. Thoughts on Rust-proofing, undercoating, paint protection?

They can say the current metals used now are sufficient to prevent rust as much as they want, but if you're in an area with road salt, all bets are off. I get my 2010 JK professionally treated every couple of years, and do touch ups on the off years. It has kept the majority of the underside in...
  14. JL Frame Replacement Process & Pics

I've learned so much about frame replacements. Don't let it dominate you, don't be afraid of it! You're gonna love it. They have the best mechanics, all trained recently. The Jeep will handle better than it has in a long time. Don't let it dominate, don't let it take over your life. Don't let...
  15. UConnect screen wear

This looks like delaminating to me, but in a different way than most. Most you see large sections delaminating. This to me looks like small bubbles of delaminating across the whole screen.
  16. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

They actually fixed or reduced the instances of that problem later on in the JK. I believe it was 2015 or 2016 when they started placing a thin piece of rubber/plastic between the hinge and the door to stop the two different metals from touching. I have a few bubbles on my 2010 hinges, but...
  17. TrailRecon spotted last Saturday outside of Silverton, CO

I like coyote works visually and the trips he takes. But his narrating and the way he structures his English is almost too much for me to handle. It’s hard to explain but sometimes I feel like a 3rd grader wrote the dialogue. On the other hand he seems quite smart so I’m not sure what it is.
  18. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

    I would lose my shit!
  19. TrailRecon spotted last Saturday outside of Silverton, CO

Good point about social media. I would say it's definitely helped me explore. It's a tough balance. For example, I'm from Ontario Canada. Without seeing some of the locations in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming etc on Social Media/YouTube, I never would have made the leap to travel that far to experience...
  20. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

In the driver's side front wheel well, peel back the fender liner in front of the shock tower and the steering box will be right there. New = Black, Old = Silver. The fender liners are crazy flimsy so very easy to peel back to see.
