  1. Rubicon vs. High Altitude Help

I suspect most people take the hood decals off so they can put on the name of their Jeep. You know "Bruiser" or something. For me, I'm just not a big fan of stickers on the hood, so I just took 'em off
  2. Rubicon vs. High Altitude Help

Either model is very capable, and both can be modified to pretty much what you want. I liked what the Rubicon brought to the table for me, but I don't think you can go wrong with either. As for a couple of your other questions and other have similar answers, 1. The stickers come off very...
  3. Dealer Cussed me out over Survey!

The dealership I go to has been pretty good, but when I gave them honest reviews 7-9's I got a call from the service manager telling me anything less than a 10 is a fail (as others have mentioned). I told him the service has been fine but for me to give a 10, I need to see above and beyond...
  4. Rock rails with entry access for Rubicon?

LOD and ROAM make rockers with a step. I have the ROAM version and love them. You do have to take off the Rubi sliders, but both LOD & ROAM would cover the pinch seam. They both look roughly like the attached pix from the interwebs. I have a 2 door, and guessing you have a 4 door, so I didn't...
  5. Constantly asked why didn't I get a 4 door!!!! Anyone else?

I grew up driving my step dad's CJ-5, then I bought YJ, a TJ and now a JL, all 2 door, and I've never once been asked why I got a 2 Door. Of course I guess in all fairness, 4Door wasn't an option for for for the first 2 and only part of the time while I had the TJ ( I had the TJ for 18 years...
  6. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Installed new CB and antenna. I used magnets stuck behind the dash so I can take the CB out, and there is nothing visible. I also put it on summer time mode (wash, wax, top off), which of course means it will snow 3 of 4 more times :)
  7. Off-roading with a manual transmission?

I love my MT, other than in stop and go traffic. Works great off road, as others have pointed out, it's just a bit more work, but "fun" work. What amazes me is that there is a $1,500 charge for the Automatic. Since Jeep probably sell 95% more Automatics, I'm amazed that economies of scale...
  8. How to drive in snow and ice, for dummies...

All great advice. What about the "Traction Control" button. Should traction control be turned on or off in snow?
  9. 2020 Jeep Wrangler water drip rain rail problem

There are also these extenders. They work well, but are a bit pricey
  10. Top 10 things Jeep should have done

To repeat what others that have already been listed, and a few I didn't see on others list: 1. Water temp & oil gauges that have actual temps on the dash (you can get these on the off road pages) 2. Clips instead of screws for the air filter 3. Only 1 battery, or at least 2 normal sized...
  11. Topless Drivers

I take the soft top off, but then put on a Sunrider top and a tonneau cover. This way I can flip open the Sunrider when its nice, and keep the sun/coldoff of me when I want. The tonneau keeps the back covered if it rains (and lookie-loos from easily seeing what's in the back
  12. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Nothing major, but ever since I put on the new bumper, I either had to hang the electrical trailer connections below the bumper making it a rock magnet, or not have access to the connectors. ... but with a cutoff wheel and a little grinding, presto access is granted.
  13. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

After putting a dent in the stock gas tank skid plate, decided I needed to up-armor it. Gas tank, oil pan, transmission and transfer case are now safe(er). I just forgot to drill out the rivets to remove the branding plate (not a fan of "in your face" branding), but since you don't see it...
  14. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Can I assume you are from Venezuela with those coordinates?
  15. How do different colors hold up to the abuse of branches running along side of the Jeep?

I think it's already been said a few times 1. Get the color you want. It's a Jeep, pin stripes are fine. 2. I suspect the metallic colors hide pin strips the best (bias here, I love metallic paint). I've got the granite, and didn't even realize I have any until I was at the right angle...
  16. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

None ... I already have 3 pedals (Gas, Brake, Clutch :))
  17. Sad day today...

I tend to take my top off in late April, and usually get snowed on once. I put the top back on in late Sept/early Oct ... usually after the first snow.
  18. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Bummer you had to take it in, but at least you have some protection now. Makes me wonder if maybe I got lucky.
  19. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Those are Rancho. 1/4" steel. Install is easy, long as you remember to keep the shock compressed before you take out the bolt.
  20. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

It's an easy install, long as you remember to keep the shocks compressed ... which I didn't do for the first one. First one took 90 mins, second one was about 15 mins. I ended up using ratchet straps in advance on the 2nd one.
