  1. Mopar Half Doors Installed on JLUR 392 Pics

thanks for posting. I love the look of them without the uppers, but definitely looks best on black when the uppers on. ultimately left them off my order but I am going back and forth on whether that was the right decision. congrats on your 392.
  2. 392 Mopar lift “unique suspension geometry”

agree with this. I found my stock JLUR to wander like crazy above 50mph. it's amazing how much better it tracks after adding a 2" lift with adjustable control arms, track bar, etc. I can let off the wheel at 70mph with 37's. never could have done that for more than a second when it was...
  3. 392 Experience So Far...

I think an aftermarket sway bar could be a good option. I've thought about getting one for my current JL (think you can get one for the rear - not sure anyone makes one for the front given the complication of the electronic disconnect)
  4. 392 Experience So Far...

awesome write up! thank you! this kind of stuff helps alleviate the pain and monotony of waiting for my 392. I'm pretty surprised that the 392 is that much heavier than the V6. I heard that it's ~600 pounds heavier. I would have guessed that the engine would add 150-200 pounds, the...
  5. Teraflex fuel economy comparison to 4xe

this guy has always cracked me up. his point is a good one though. reality is that EV/hybrids have such ridiculously long payoff periods - the upfront premium is so big relative to the efficiency advantages. simple reality is that the technology just isn't there yet to make these worthwhile...
  6. How do you like your 392 Jeep!?!?!?

in the same boat. my dealer said they submitted my order, but they aren't sure whether Jeep will be able to find a similar build that's not tagged to a customer order, or whether they would need to grab a new production slot. the latter case will be more like 6-8 weeks. not sure whether...
  7. Illinois Stock Rubicon&DV8 rear bumpers

interested in the rock rails. can you PM me with where you're located and what you could do as far as price?
  8. TFL Gets 19 MPG Over 250 Miles With 392 Wrangler

Silly test. Good luck getting those results at sea level with some hills and regular driving. Altitude has a big impact having said that, I’ll bet you could get over 20mpg though with the cruise pinned at 60-65.
  9. What modifications are you planning for your 392?

was not planning on upgrading to a 392 until Tuesday, but after seeing deliveries coming and watching a few videos, just placed an order. I will basically be doing all the same mods as my current JL with slightly different wheels and tires and I'm thinking of biting the bullet on a winch
  10. 392 ? Hacking the 99 miles per hour limit ?

the goal is to unlock the ability for more wheel rotations (i.e. to go faster). a smaller tire needs more rotations per mile than a larger one, therefore if the computer thinks it has a smaller tire on, it expects that it will need to spin the axles more for a given distance (not less). what...
  11. What are the chances my new 392 was a EJS Press vehicle

when was the car produced (do you know what week?)? there's no chance they gave you a press car (EJS). maybe it collected dirt from a drive through a construction area while it was raining - who knows. as for the rust, I wouldn't sweat it. you could touch it up if it bothers you, but my...
  12. 392 ? Hacking the 99 miles per hour limit ?

this chassis isn't built for those speeds at all (esp. with bigger tires and/or a lift), but I totally get where the OP is coming from. it's good to have a limiter for kids who do stupid things (I remember taking my 5-speed TJ past 100 when i was in high school), but for those of us who know...
  13. Update: Reveal Coming Nov 17 @ 12PM ET! Production 392 Hemi V8 Jeep Wrangler Officially Teased!

all I can say is "thank you Ford". can't help but think that the Bronco announcement precipitated this.
  14. LCA vs UCA

goal should be to add longer LCA's to center the axles within the wheel wells (i.e. to get back to factory wheelbase specs). Once that is done, then you adjust the UCA's to correct the caster / pinion angle. pretty simple, and any good off road shop can handle the job
  15. Mastercraft Courser MXT (D rated) vs BFGoodrich KO2 (C rated)

these tires are amazing. I am quite shocked at how smooth and quiet they ride (mine are 37x12.5r17). the difference in noise between these and the K02's is barely even noticeable. I'm sure they will become more like a mud tire after 30k miles and become louder, but I'm not concerned as they...
  16. 37” Mastercraft Courser MXT reviews

amazing tires. they ride very smoothly, and they are whisper quiet. honestly, I could barely notice a difference from the BFG's that the Rubicon comes with. I would highly recommend them!
  17. What’s your magic caster number?

2” lift, got all the adjustable arms and track bars from MC. Shop that did my lift really knows what they were doing. While I don’t have arm lengths for you, I can tell you that the lowers are longer than stock f&r (to Center the axle in the wheel well, and the uppers were adjusted to dial in...
  18. Will the 1/4" longer LCAs really improve the wandering issue?

Adjustable arms are what you need. Your issue is probably insufficient caster angle. You might be able to get away with just the adjustable upper arms up front to dial it in. My alignment was for 5.5 degrees of caster (stock Rubicon was around 4). Even with a lift and 37’s, my Jeep tracks much...
  19. Well, we blew up our JL

Thanks for trying out the turbo and being the guinea pig. Nice to know I don’t need to tempt myself with it any more. I, for one, really like seeing you guys push the limit of the platform by both modding and wheeling it aggressively. I think that’s way more entertaining than just wheeling a...
