  1. Fist Look at Gecko JL Wrangler

I still like Mojito! better, but I’m a bit biased 😁
  2. ESS quit working

Same symptoms mine had. Would put money on they changing the main battery.
  3. JL is Pretty Awesome

Congrats on the new ride! My ‘19 JLUR is my first Jeep and my only regret is I waited so long to get one!
  4. ESS quit working

The tech told me he’s seeing quite a bit of this. Not sure if it’s a bad batch of batteries or Jeep doesn’t have the ESS completely figured out yet. Could be a combination.
  5. ESS quit working

I did. The main battery needed to be replaced which surprised me. I would have thought it would be the smaller one. The technician said he’s actually done quite a few of these. It was done under warranty so nothing out of pocket for me.
  6. Jeep Theft Made EASY

I had my 2019 JLUR broken into about six months ago. It was on the third floor of a gated, high end apartment, with a security guard (worthless) and cameras at all the entrances and exits. None of that mattered. If they want your stuff, they’ll find a way.
  7. Jeep Theft Made EASY

I think this is a great idea. Would be easy to implement.
  8. Jeep Theft Made EASY

Only thing lower than a thief is a politician.
  9. Who actually uses A/C?

I use my A/C all the time living in Florida. It gets pretty hot here in the middle of the summer!
  10. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

I just had the TSB completed on my ‘19 JLUR. Took about a week for the part to come in and was a day 1/2 at the dealer. Steering is vastly improved. I used to have around and inch of play off-center, both sides and this is completely gone. Still wanders a little on the highway but that’s...
  11. Things you have learned the Hard way about owning a Jeep.

I’ve found that it will rain 100% of the time if I leave the top off my Jeep or wash it. And oh yes, Alexa is completely clueless with all things weather related, LOL!
  12. Things you have learned the Hard way about owning a Jeep.

I just thought that was the new Mad Max package!
  13. My 392 Rubicon order is showing a price now ($77k) !!!

Wow! My ‘19 JLUR was a bargain at $55k! That said it’s going to be a BEAST with that motor!
  14. Topless Drivers

I’ve had my Jeep for around 20 months now (‘19 JLUR) and I drop the top as often as possible, weather permitting! I live in Tampa and have serious concerns with melanoma so I always use SPF 50 or higher and wear a hat, completely understanding this does not guarantee anything 100%. I bought a...
  15. One Confusing part of the Rubicon vs. Sahara question.

I personally bought the Rubicon over the Sahara for pure esthetics. I may do some mild trails at some point but mine is a daily driver and a mall crawler. There used to be a Moab edition which was essentially a Sahara dressed as a Rubicon which is a great compromise between the two trims...
  16. Florida Guy Happy But Frozen

My wife and I LOVE Maui! Evening dinners in Lahaina, shopping in Whaler’s Village and the obligatory expedition to see the sunrise on the top of Haleakala (please excuse any spelling errors). All the islands are great but Maui holds a special place in our hearts!
  17. Confirmed: 2021 Jeep Wranglers have new improved steering gear box (from TSB 08-074-20)

Alex thanks for the response. Since day one I’ve felt like it pulls (alignment has been checked twice and it’s fine) and there is a least an inch of play, either side, off center. It’s going in tomorrow so hopefully it will be addressed.
  18. Picking a Wrangler...could use some help.

Welcome to the club! It’s a tough decision, I know. I personally went with a Mojito! JLU Rubicon because it looks bad a$$ (daily driver and not much off roading). One thing to consider. I have seen people say they wished they got a Rubicon instead of (insert trim level here), but I don’t...
  19. Safety packages - initial thoughts

I think most of these features should be standard these days AS LONG AS one has the ability to deactivate them if they don’t want to use them. Driver ALWAYS assumes all risk and responsibility when sitting behind the wheel, regardless how good the safety systems are.
  20. Safety packages - initial thoughts

My son’s Jetta died this spring (basically caught on fire) so we bought him a 2020 Kia Forte that has the lane departure with steering assist. Essentially above 40mph it gently steers the vehicle in the center of the lane, even through turns. It was a little disconcerting at first but I’ve...
