  1. Power loss climbing hills (Pentastar/Manual)???

I'd love to move up north to northern Ontario area some day, so I figure I should start learning the "language" now ;)
  2. DIY Centerforce flywheel and clutch install

Sorry to hear that... it seemed like Centerforce had a good thing going, but you may have found the weak spot unfortunately, that only mileage could find.
  3. DIY Centerforce flywheel and clutch install

For what it's worth, when I did my wife's 4G Eclipse GT clutch, it did not have a pilot bearing / bushing. I was surprised by this because every other clutch job I've ever done had the transmission input shaft supported by either a bearing or bushing. When I tried looking up a part # to verify...
  4. Power loss climbing hills (Pentastar/Manual)???

This transmission + diff gearing + engine do take some time getting used to. In my GTO, I would be in 6th at 75km/hr turning 1100rpm and have no problem climbing small hills. The gearing is far too tall; I agree with others that said the manual should have come with the 4.10 gears. Plus the...
  5. Magnuson Supercharger available $6495

I'm more interested to see it on your Jeep, but, admitidly, I'd probably watch an unboxing too. Congrats on the purchase and best of luck with the build. Let the fun begin!
  6. Water pooling on hood hinge latch?

This is what happens when you park outside and not in a garage. I keep a t bar squeegee in the jeep to wipe water away since mine sits outside all the time.
  7. Dealer nameplate.

If you are doing a factory ordering, you can ask the dealer not to put decals on. I’m not sure if the dealer I went through does this, but I asked the sales rep not to put any decals on and there were not. They did put a license plate frame on, but that didn’t bother me as it was easily removed.
  8. thinking of buying a new wrangler- any glaring issues/problems on the new ones?

Yes, that is correct. If you get the auto with V6, you will get the etorque version. Honestly, I’ve heard less issues with that system then the wonky ESS batteries. Anyway, I’ve also read of the door hinge corrosion issue, but have not noticed it on mine that I’ve owned (and kept outside) for...
  9. 3.6 MT Stalls in Reverse

Most cars will usually have a pretty close first gear and reverse gear ratio. In fact, several cars I know have a shorter reverse gear than first, which is probably what you are used to as was I when I started driving the Jeep. First gear in these transmissions is very short (5.13) compared to...
  10. Bantam Jeep Festival 2021 - registration open!

Just wondering if anyone had plans on trying to attend given all the lock downs from this past year? It is not until June, but registration just opened up the other day. I signed up for several events and my wife is excited to do the Babes of Bantam as well! http://www.bantamjeepfestival.com/
  11. Looks like Edelbrock is getting closer to production.

Their only hope at customers are the manual owners. You won't be able to get a 392 with 3 pedals. And now with the 3.6 coming with e-torque on the automatic variants, that leaves a very small customer base going forward. I doubt any company producing superchargers is going to touch the e-torque...
  12. Why do you need the Safety Group to order the LED Headlamp and Fog Lamp Group?

I'm guessing those are the "halo" rings that come on for the daytime running lights.
  13. New Wrangler - idling high in neutral?

I've noticed the same on a few occasions where it would rev itself up when I put it in neutral and coasted to a stop sign. Sometimes it hung at higher RPM even when fully stopped, but I notice it does this more if I an coasting in neutral. And it only does this when the engine is still cold. I...
  14. Why do you need the Safety Group to order the LED Headlamp and Fog Lamp Group?

I have a 2021 Willys and it does come standard with the LED headlights (and the DRL halo rings), LED fog lights, and LED front side markers. The turn signals look to be regular incadecent bulbs. Rear tail lights are also standard incadecent. With that said, I am not sure why they are giving you...
  15. 3.6 engine and 87 octane a no-no

@Petey Do you notice any oil burning or having to add much oil between changes? I ask because oil mist in the intake will lower octane when it mixes with gas in the cylinder. Something like a stuck PCV (check the valve and any cracks in hoses) can increase oil consumption. Not only does the...
  16. Now I’m worried

I agree with what everyone has stated about forums in general, but the biggest thing to remember not get worried about "all" the problems you read about, just keep a mental note on things to look for when you do make your purchase. Don't go into it expecting problems, go into it mindful of...
  17. 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 V8 - Specs, Wallpapers, Videos!

Isn't this the same thing he said a couple months ago about the 4xe? It is interesting how polar opposite each of these new models are and the direction they are taking each. 4xe: silent on the trails and inner city streets 392: Intentionally loud V8 soundtrack by way of valve adjusting exhaust...
  18. You know your wife is cool when she....

I feel lucky to have a cool wife like you guys too. We just celebrated our 10th anniversary, and I'm looking forward to many more. For starters, we got married on Halloween. We invited guests to dress up at the reception - we came out as jailbirds carrying a plastic ball & chain. She doesn't...
  19. Test drove my first ever Wranglers today. Thoughts and help with concerns please

I was in your shoes not long ago. This is my first Wrangler, so I heavily considered all options available before placing the factory order. I am not big on touch screens in cars; I prefer tactile buttons and knobs, so I stuck with the base 7" system in the technology package (this was required...
  20. Question of the rpm for manual transmission

I do hope Rodeoflyer was joking about suggesting to drop the clutch in every gear. I would not recommend driving like this regularly. Sure when I'm on the drag strip with my GTO I'll drop the clutch between gear changes and smash the throttle back down to the floor, but that does create a shock...
