  1. What happened to the new inline 6 that FCA was supposedly working on?

They might be holding back for the Bronco to publish numbers and get units on the road, so Jeep can one-up them. I can't think of any other good reasons, just the possibility that they ditched it.
  2. JLU vs Equinox shows steel bumper strength

It doesn't take much to be more heavy duty than a couple pieces of flimsy facade plastic.
  3. FCA working on a new inline 6?

Thinking that ICE are going to vanish in the next couple decades is delusional. These companies need to remain profitable for lots more years while people get over the fairy tale of what electrics can do, and what their total cost is. Compact forced induction engines are going to be around...
  4. FCA working on a new inline 6?

The Wagoneers were supposed to debut the new Tornado or whatever it's designation is AFAIK. I wish they'd get around to doing that so they can also tell us it will be in the 22 Wrangler to compete with Ford's 2.7
  5. 2021 Wrangler Fleet Buyers Guide Shows Gecko, Nacho, and Chief Blue! NO MORE SARGE?

If they would offer a better 6-cyl or the 5.7 I'd be all over that.
  6. Bronco vs Jeep Wrangler mega thread

Neither has won my purchase yet. The V8 Wrangler might be able to sway me, but honestly I'd have preferred one in the 4-5L range. I still need to decide of my next vehicle could be "just a car" and build a buggy instead. In which case Bronco might win out.
  7. Bronco vs Jeep Wrangler mega thread

Because they live in reality, not Fantasy Land. ICE isn't going anywhere for decades, and in the meantime the manufacturers want to remain profitable. None of the images or info have actually indicated 37's. Not from the factory. This continues to be a fantasy of the overly enthusiastic...
  8. JL Wrangler Front Hitch Receiver For Fishing Rod Holder?

I'd be interested in one integrated into a bumper, but they're extremely uncommon from what I've seen.
  9. What will 100 Year Anniversary Jeep Wrangler will look like?

I don't think you have to worry about autonomous driving in the next few decades. That's today's pie-in-the-sky equivalent of flying cars back in the 50's. People vastly underestimate how much driving even a halfwits unconscious brain is capable of -- our ability to build sensors and computer...
  10. Looks Like Ford Bronco is Serious About Taking on the Wrangler

March is when it was supposed to debut. Not sure where you're getting the six month figure, but the exec head of engineering said two, which should put it in the next week or so. If Jeep hadn't changed color availability earlier this year, so would I. Now I get to wait again and see if any JT...
  11. What is the average age of a JL Rubicon owner

Not that I own one, but this question has been asked by pollsters with a much larger pool of respondants before and you can find research on it fairly easily. The average buyer of a NEW Wrangler, Jeep, pickup, suv, sports or luxury or leisure vehicle are all 50+% over the age of 50, and most of...
  12. Looks Like Ford Bronco is Serious About Taking on the Wrangler

Guess, what, building cars is mission critical for car companies. The plants with thousands of people in them are still up and running. Ford, GM, and FCA last week informed much of their white-collar workforces to work remotely, but they have kept manufacturing operations up and running...
  13. FCA pulls out of 2020 Easter Jeep Safari. New concept will debut elsewhere.

I understand the concept entirely, and knew all of that that when I said it. The recommendations being put forth aren't going to have that effect though, because they're much too short. Most of the measures being implemented are saying one week, and that just isn't enough to produce that kind...
  14. FCA pulls out of 2020 Easter Jeep Safari. New concept will debut elsewhere.

This is going to take months to resolve. Even if the numbers wane, it will flare up again when people relax and start going out and gathering again, until it has run its course and the herd immunity builds up enough to stop it. Delaying or cancelling things like EJS only serve to delay the...
  15. Looks Like Ford Bronco is Serious About Taking on the Wrangler

How long can Ford afford to delay it though? There are plenty of people who are already tired of waiting and have moved on. I'm kind of pissed the wait has made me lose the opportunity to pick up a Punk'n Diesel.
  16. Why so many doors

It has a lot more to do with wheelbase than the number of doors, for me. On road stability with strong side winds and on ice, as well as better climbing and descending capability. I think the 4d is a little long, but that works better than the 2d which is too short.
  17. Looks Like Ford Bronco is Serious About Taking on the Wrangler

The reveal is probably next week, March 18th. An email and text messages were sent out today to dealers. They will start building them for commercial production on December 7th, and you'll see them on lots in Q1 2021.
  18. Start of 3.0 Production

And Punk'n is discontinued now apparently, it could be one of the very few diesels with that color. I'm going to be jealous if I have to order white ...
  19. Looks Like Ford Bronco is Serious About Taking on the Wrangler

To be fair, from the back most people aren't going to notice the difference between pickups either, and half the crossovers all look like the same jellybean from the back too. I'm sure that's why Ford only dispersed these photos of it, and not the money shots looking at the front end.
