  1. Proper way to hook winch to battery

Well, I installed my winch a little while ago and after all my research into switches, solenoids, etc, I decided to keep it simple. When the winch is not in use I attach the positive lead to the battery ground with a wing nut. I then move the lead over to the positive post when it’s time to use...
  2. Filling a diesel with extra can

I’m not familiar with the diesel’s idiosyncrasies, but you might try replacing the spout on your rotopax with one of these. They work great for gas, and will hopefully solve your problem as well.
  3. BRIGHT WHITE Wrangler JL Club

Thanks. I’m surprised 33 was open given the amount of snow on the ground. Looks like it is now closed at Wheeler CG according to Caltrans.

  6. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Thanks. I included a short description here: I hope to describe it more in-depth in a new thread, but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
  7. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

But wait, there’s more... I also installed a KC rear light bar. I tied the red lights to the CHMSL wiring for braking so it replaces the center mount light above the spare tire resulting in better visibility out the rear window. It also has a flashing amber set of lights which are great on...

Thanks. I’ll give it a shot.
  9. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Now catching up on some recent installs... I installed KC Cyclops rock lights. I’m using the Jeep Homelink controller with a RF relay here too. The rears are also tied into the curtesy lights and turn on when the door opens. (I’ve been unimpressed with the LEDs on the Roam rock rails.) I...
  10. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Earlier this week I installed a 10” Baja Design wide driving amber light bar. I’m using the Homelink garage door opener to operate the lights via a RF relay.

  12. MetalCloak GameChanger 2.5” lift installation questions

this is a great thread. I stumbled through installing my 2.5” MC lift a little over a year ago so the details are a little fuzzy. The length of the spacer on mine looks to be the same as yours (after conversion), but I have no gap. Unfortunately I don’t recall if there was a gap beforehand...

I bought the following RF relay from Amazon. It looks like it is not available, but there are others. Just make sure the description says it works with garage door openers. I had to try a couple before I got it right. I wanted an enclosure that provided better protection against water/dust so I...

Thanks. I used it alone. It’s only a 10” light bar, so it was more than capable.

If your Jeep is equipped with Homelink you can repurpose a couple switches to power lights or whatever by installing a RF relay switch. I’m using them to drive my rock lights and light bar, as well as my garage door. Probably not what you had in mind, but food for thought.
  16. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Installed my winch disconnect. Easy install and reasonably priced! Disconnected: Connected:
  17. TazerJL Feature Requests

Tim, the “auto” function doesn’t necessarily factor into this issue. In fact I rarely use it, but I frequently experience the issue I described, regardless of whether the HVAC is in fresh air or recirc mode. Jeep doesn’t seam to think that this is an issue, which is why I was hoping @[email protected]
  18. Anyone using 35/12.50 or 315/70 all terrains for snow?

How’s this For 315/70R17 KO2s? Actually, we were out playing in the snow. I figure you’re not having fun if you’re not exploring the Jeep’s capabilities. I agree about your concerns of wider tires though. You might consider 285/75. They are considerably narrower than 35s, but only about 0.5...
  19. TazerJL Feature Requests

It would be nice if Tazer could override the computer’s control of the fresh air/recirc door (located behind the glove box) to force it fully open for recirc and fully closed for fresh air. As it stands now, the computer wants to partially open the door at times, allowing unfiltered air to...
