  1. Bronco vs Jeep Wrangler mega thread

My biggest gripe I think, is the steering. It's obvious that its a thing. FCA knows it, journalists know it, and Jeep keeps saying its a feature not a bug. I think the JL has a lot going for it. I was never interested in Jeep until the release of the JL. I read somewhere that Ford got in touch...

  3. Bronco vs Jeep Wrangler mega thread

Ford is going to have teething problems with the Bronco. All those electronics aren't going to play well with off roading, and that's just the electrical side. I am getting the extended warranty. At 62 years of age I can't wait for Ford to get it right. So I'm going to be a beta tester, and I...
  4. Bronco vs Jeep Wrangler mega thread

That's true, but you can buy the base, Sasquatch it, and have a decent off roader. No Rubicon to be sure, but alot better than anything Jeep is offering in the base model.
  5. Bronco vs Jeep Wrangler mega thread

Granger Ford is taking reservations for 1K under invoice or any of the Ford plans (X), whichever is cheapest. With this being the new hotness, that's as good as your going to get this year. With the caveat that Covid doesn't crater the economy.
  6. Bronco vs Jeep Wrangler mega thread

I think the Sport is Ford's answer to the Subaru. I wish they had named it something else.
  7. Bronco vs Jeep Wrangler mega thread

I was going to get a Rubi diesel. But the Bronc has two inches more leg room up front. I'm 6'3 and that makes a big difference. Bronc has a dead pedal for the left foot, and IFS is going to handle better on the road. I reserved the 4D Badlands Squatch. There's a dealer in IA that's offering...
  8. ODB Monitoring

Is there a product out there that you can do a manual regen like the big rigs?
  9. 3.0D What’s your hand calculated DIESEL mileage?

I think Europe doesn't have to have all these emission controls the EPA mandates. Its to FCA's distinct advantage to fix this problem as its cost them millions in buy backs and lawsuits. That said, FCA considers the exhaust system as a replaceable item bothers the hell out of me. Especially as...
  10. Chain or belt?

I haven't been able to find out whether or not the new 3.0 has a timing chain or belt that needs replacement. Anyone know?
  11. Auto Start/Stop 2.0 vs 3.6

I have not driven, nor owned anything with S/S. However, I do live in an area with 9 inches of rain a year average, and its not unheard of for triple digit heat to last a couple of weeks. Does the a/c still blow cold at the light, or say in a line at a drive thru where you may be stuck...
  12. Possible steering solution?

Video should be sent to Manley.
  13. 48 Volt system

Jeep Informant has indicated that the MGU replacement cost as of this date is $1200.00 and the 48 Volt battery is $1800.00. Anyone know if the "forever warranty" covers these items?
  14. 48 Volt system

Does anyone know the projected life cycle of the 48 volt lithium battery? How much does FCA want for a new one?
  15. Waiting for diesel?

Post. Had a Bronco with the 302. It was ok. Can't afford the big Raptor, and I don't know that the little one will be all that and a bag of chips. ZR2/Bison might be the ticket if they do a refresh. As it stands the interior is 80's cheesy. 4Runner certainly could stand a refresh, and red...

    Actually, I'm thinking of a 4 Runner or ZR2...
  17. Waiting for diesel?

Between the frame welds, software pages, 2.0 turbo roll out, steering problems, and the known diesel engine problems, I'm wondering if getting a JL is a good idea at all. Teething problems are fine when you read about them, but a loaded ecodiesel rubi is going to be real close to 60K and my...
  18. Any 2.0L Jeep Wrangler JL in sight for delivery?

I'm guessing that they have to check the welds, and some of those batteries are catching fire like Tesla's did. I am also watching this carefully as I first wanted a diesel, then realized I don't drive enough for the regen, so the turbo was my second choice.
  19. Waiting for diesel?

Noticed yesterday's Detroit auto show that FCA has gone all in with the etorque hybrids on the 1500 Rams. So it looks like the 2.0 turbo won't be a orphan engine rapidly abandoned by FCA. Which makes me consider the etorque above the 3.6 which is out there now. As much as I love diesel, until...
