  1. Caution: Broken Body Mount Bolt When Installing Frame Mount Rock Sliders / Rails / Sidesteps

As an update I re-torqued my body bolts one year later. Only one was out of spec and only about 1/8th of a turn. I did not fully remove them or add/remove any loctite. Just heat, loosen, retighten.
  2. Caution: Broken Body Mount Bolt When Installing Frame Mount Rock Sliders / Rails / Sidesteps

Did you heat it or just hope for the best? Either way sucks and sorry.
  3. Sky Touch roof......

Sky one touch for over a year. Here’s the thing. Most people aren’t going to remove their hard top and deal with storing it. The soft top sucks with the plastic windows, the rear is a pain with the plastic window in place, and you have to pull over if it rains. Oh and zero security. sky one...
  4. JL Start/Stop not working (Battery Charging)

I’d disagree nothing is wrong. This is a pretty common issue with the JL. Bad batteries. Bad battery sensors. Sure if you let your car sit a month thr battery will die. But if it’s starting and running fine you’re main battery is good. If the start stop or accessory buttons (if you’re...
  5. JL Start/Stop not working (Battery Charging)

It’s not just the stop start. It’s your aux battery that’s causing it. So I would highly recommend you get it fixed. Don’t know much about Canada but I imagine you still have a warranty.
  6. JL Start/Stop not working (Battery Charging)

My Jeep was at the dealer for a month with the same problem. I had steps installed and some electrical work in the back. Every dealer is different. Mine cut power to my mods and checked to see if the battery was still draining. It was. So ruled out mods. after that FCA had them go system by...
  7. Who else manipulates ess with brake pressure?

Totally different experience in the manual. The clutch is what triggers the engine to kick on. For a super short stop just keep the clutch in and in gear. Wont turn the engine off. . the best however is that the engine will shut off in neutral at about 2mph letting you coast engine off. In...
  8. What did you name your Jeep JL?

I mean... what else could I name it?
  9. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

Enjoy your new fully loaded Jeep that is totally paid off and includes a 7yr/100mi warranty and probably enough extra cash for all your mods.
  10. Anyone with a XRC 3rd gen winch knows what this is

Have one, someone else installed. No idea. Is that the drum?
  11. Anyone consider the Gladiator before going with the JLU?

If you want to tow and use that bed go for a JT. If you want more offroading or the sky one touch get a JLU. For me I knew I'd rarely use the bed or tow. The one touch is a deal breaker for me. So damn convenient. But also I have storage in the back, I can get a trailer hitch basket or...
  12. Metalcloak SportGate Tire carrier Opinions please

Interesting. So this dont use the rubber isolators?
  13. An ode to Jeep Cares

I don’t discredit your experience either. I agree. In old enough to remember when a dealership saw a customer as an investment in their future. Those days are long dead in just about every business. Pretty much everything made today is junk at the cheapest price point analyzed to the penny...
  14. An ode to Jeep Cares

I’ve owned many brands from Ford/GM/FCA, Volvo/Acura/Nissan/Infiniti/BMW. Friends have had VW and Benz with bad experiences. My experience is dealerships rarely care. Their sales people never know their product. That’s universal. They know one or two features they use to sell and beyond...
  15. 2022 Color Wish List

I’d honestly be bummed to buy now. Mojito was such a beautiful green, Bikini pearl was the coolest blue, andno orange can touch Punk’N. Metallics and especially pearls are needed in punchy colors. A pearlescent purple and green would be great. That yellow needs a ton of metallic to make it...
  16. An ode to Jeep Cares

I’m hoping some good vibes will encourage @JeepCares to do more and get more responses like mine. I know that most of the posts on here are negative towards them but I can only speak to my experience. And let’s face it people are more likely to post when stuff goes wrong than right. Brooklyn...
  17. RockHard 4x4 Tire Carrier and Brace Review/tips.

After getting a Metalcloak Rear bumper I found out my tire wouldn’t clear the bumper and I couldn’t close my tailgate. I needed the tire moved out about a half inch. This led me to the @ROCK HARD 4X4 brace and carrier. My main thing was I wanted the rubber isolators to still stabilize the...
  18. Caution: Broken Body Mount Bolt When Installing Frame Mount Rock Sliders / Rails / Sidesteps

Good advice. I have a few steel bolts in aluminum parts so those I try to be diligent about the antiseize. not sure where you live but there might be a jeeper with an induction heater to borrow. also I didn’t do it this way but might be a good safety measure. Once you hear the bolt use your...
  19. Caution: Broken Body Mount Bolt When Installing Frame Mount Rock Sliders / Rails / Sidesteps

I got ya now. Yeah. It’s nerve wracking for sure. I’ve never used a torch so that was a no for me. Induction worked great but it is an expensive tool. recently I’ve been using more lock washers and anti-seize (nord lock). My understanding is better torque retention than loctite. But who...
