  1. Broken Arrow Trail - Sedona. Good for newbies?

Taking a guy from work out to Broken Arrow tomorrow. Pretty easy trail, if you pick easy lines. You can make it more challenging by picking harder lines. After Broken Arrow, I’ll take him down the bad sections of FR 9513. Still pretty easy, but more challenging if you pick hard lines.
  2. Missing Badge of Honor trails

The part I think is stupid about the BOH system, is for example Schnebly Hill is a badge. Broken Arrow is not. You can drive Schnebly Hill in a Subaru. If you can tolerate a shitty road for a couple hours, woo hoo, you made it. Broken Arrow has a few technical spots, and is a more difficult...
  3. Full kit vs Mopar, what’s the advantage?

Sorry for the late reply. It has been two record sales days at work in a row. Quite busy, which is great! Thank you to all who answered with an explanation to my question. Being that this is a daily driver and sees a whopping 30 miles a week as a DD, and as a weekend off roster it sees over 100...
  4. Full kit vs Mopar, what’s the advantage?

So we are looking at lifting the JLUR in the nearish future. I am looking at a few different lifts like the RK 2.5“ X-Factor, the Metal Cloak Game Changer 2.5” and the Teraflex 2.5” Alpine CT2. My wife asked what the advantage over the Mopar 2” lift these systems have. I didn’t have a really...
  5. What did you do WITH your Jeep today.

This was last weekend, but I just got around to making the video today. Pretty fun trip out FR9513. Credit to my wife as the photographer and videographer. She’s pretty darn amazing.
  6. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Quite happy with them. They bolted up very nicely. No having to get a pry bar and try to torque something to fit, no wallowing out holes to make the bolts work. Everything just went together perfectly. First time we hit some rocks, the Jeep glided right over. No problems. Minor scratches, they...
  7. Who actually uses A/C?

I live in Arizona. You have to have AC. I can’t imagine how uncomfortable it would be without it.
  8. 35's with a 1.5" budget lift?

2021 JLUR stock. 315/70/17. Zero rubbing. I off road this thing pretty hard. Been on 35’s for a couple months. Still zero rubbing.
  9. Remove iDrive before servicing at dealer?

Absolutely. Never leave the cool stuff installed when going to the dealership.
  10. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Metalcloak skids and Baja Designs Squadron Pro’s. I added the golden diaper as well, but it’s not in the first pics. There’s a half assed pic of it out on the trail.
  11. What did you name your Jeep JL?

It took a couple months, but I finally settled on “Bricktop”. “Feed ‘em to the pigs, Errol.”
  12. More feedback about crawling from 2.0T (Non-eTorque) owners please.

As far as the turbo lag when crawling, it has never been an issue for me. In 4lo, manually shifted in 1st, it does quite well. I come from a sports car racing background. Brake boosting. It works in the JLUR. Brake boosting is where you ride the brake and load the engine with the gas pedal...
  13. When do you REFUEL?

If I’m headed out off road, I top it off. Wintertime I fill up at 1/2 tank. My driveway is wicked steep and at 3/8 tank, remote start won’t work because it thinks the Jeep is empty. The other 10 months of warm weather, I don’t really pay a lot of attention to the fuel gauge. I commute 5 miles...
  14. Ready for our trip out West

Sounds like a great trip. You’ll be passing right through my neighborhood. Homestead aka Cliffhanger is still open. Soldier Pass you need to get a permit at least 72 hours in advance. Those permits get eaten up quick, so sooner the better on those. Only 12 permits are issued each day. Mingus is...
  15. What would you do to your Jeep with $5k?

Full blown lift kit. The whole nine yards. Upper and lower control arms, springs, shocks, etc. Problem is, it would take me a month of research to figure out which kit. Also a set of Ace sliders. That way my wife can get in the Jeep.
  16. Auto park engaged

Seat pressure sensor. Not sure how you would check to make sure it is operating correctly. You could find the wires and loop them so the circuit is closed. That would trick the vehicle into thinking there is always someone seated in the seat.
  17. New to me... they now have Orange Loctite

I switched from threadlocker blue and red to using VC-3. It has worked quite well in all applications I have applied it in.
  18. Took a friend to Broken Arrow - Her first offroad adventure in her Jeep.

That’s what made the video part so worthwhile. She can share that with her dad. She was so proud of her driving. I was too. She did great. It was just an awesome day all around!
  19. Took a friend to Broken Arrow - Her first offroad adventure in her Jeep.

So I work with a woman whose daughter we hired a while back. She’s a really good kid, works harder than most people I know. She’s rocking straight A’s in high school. She saved and bought a Wrangler Rubicon. Her mom didn’t want her going off road without someone making sure she would be okay. So...
  20. 999,999

Lois, What do you mean when you say the ESS isn’t hooked up? Has it been disabled? How is the dash telling you the battery is charging?
