  1. Regear for Ecodiesel - What Ratio

They charged $1750 so I guess no carriers. I've put about 10k miles on the new gears including towing and some rock crawling in Moab so I think they did it right.
  2. Regear for Ecodiesel - What Ratio

I had a shop do the re-gear. I didn’t ask and they didn’t say. I do a lot of work on the Jeeps I have, but re-gearing is over my head.
  3. Anyone towing with their Diesel?

I re-geared to 4.56 on 37's. I never had any issue with transmission temp, but I did have problems with the engine temp getting hot. It behaves a lot better now, but I do still watch it closely pulling up steep grades. Mine will hit 8th gear at highway speeds now unless pulling up hill--it used...
  4. Diesel Lift Kit?

x2 I installed this on my diesel and no modifications were needed.
  5. Regear for Ecodiesel - What Ratio

I went with 4.56 on my JLURD on 37's. I do a lot of highway driving pulling a travel trailer and do a fair amount of rock crawling. I've put about 10k miles on the new gears and I like the 4.56/37 combo. On the highway I get about 24-25 mpg not towing, about 14 mpg towing. I used to have a...
  6. Am I Crazy to want to keep Stock Wheels?

True but I’m not a fan of wheel spacers. Maybe for highway driving but not the abuse I put my Jeep through.
  7. Am I Crazy to want to keep Stock Wheels?

I liked my stock wheels but my lift and tires that I upgraded to wouldn’t work because of backspacing. So had to upgrade.
  8. What did you do WITH your Jeep today.

Camped at Panarama Point in Canyonlands.
  9. What did you do WITH your Jeep today.

This spot on Dome Plateau is mine tonight
  10. What did you do WITH your Jeep today.

    Snowboarding at Jackson Hole
  11. Fender liners

Just to be clear, did you install the DV8 fender liners on a diesel?
  12. Anyone Tow a Camper? Size? Pics?

171DB. Really wanted a real bathroom and a bed that doesn’t convert to a dinette. Loved my RPod other than that. Then I saw the Hike and fell in love LOL
  13. Anyone Tow a Camper? Size? Pics?

I pulled a 2700# dry weight Rpod all over the country with my 2020 JLURD. It pulled it no problem. The engine had plenty of extra performance, but the cooling system is a pain in the ass. That said, I sold the Rpod and bought a Winnebago Hike, dry weight 3200#, because I was very comfortable...
  14. Anybody re-gearing their diesel?

Mine is in the shop now going to 4.56 on 37's. I use it to tow a camper and even though it pulls it with no problem, I'm hoping to spend more time in the higher gears and get the temp to stay in the normal range better when climbing mountains. I took it all over Moab and Ouray with 3.73/37's...
  15. Diesel Lift Kit?

That makes sense and I'm not trying to be argumentative or dismissive. My only point is that every Jeep owner puts different components on their Jeeps and the end weight will be different for each one of us. Demanding a different set of springs from a supplier because of the 400 pound difference...
  16. Diesel Lift Kit?

I think people are way overthinking the 400 pound weight difference. I doubt Jeep puts different springs on a Jeep with plastic bumpers and fenders vs steel bumpers and fenders. When you bring 2 buddies along do you need new springs? Do you take them back off when you ride alone? I have a diesel...
  17. Anyone Tow a Camper? Size? Pics?

I just bought a Winnebago Hike with nearly the same hitch weight and unloaded vehicle weight. I haven't pulled it with the Jeep yet. I've got a weight distribution/antisway hitch as well. Does your Jeep squat at all? I've got the diesel also. I pulled a lighter Rpod about 6000 miles with it and...
  18. Game Changer & wheel B.S.

Rear sway bar is the issue. I ran without the sway bar until the new wheels came in. 4.5 inch backspacing works fine for me.
  19. Game Changer 2.5 lift for the ecodiesel

Love it. Has worked great towing a 3000 pound trailer and running trails in Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and California. I’ve put about 17000 miles on the setup.
  20. Game Changer 2.5 lift for the ecodiesel

I’ve got the MC game changer 3.5 with 6pack shocks on my JLURD since April. The springs are fine. In fact, I wouldn’t want them stiffer. I have an after market steel rear bumper and tire carrier. Front bumper is aluminum with a winch. MC fenders and I also have steel rock rails so plenty of...
