  1. Adding remote start and keeping old key fobs too

No of course they wont remote start but they could lock, unlock and start the vehicle couldn't they? If they didn't get programmed than they are garbage, at least they could be spare keys. The op owns them has paid for them and they should be made to work.
  2. Adding remote start and keeping old key fobs too

Go back to the dealer and get them to program them in. They should have done it when they installed the remote start. When installing the remote start you have to program in the supplied keys and they could have done your original keys with a few clicks of the mouse.

I have always said this. One remote start uses up a years worth of ess credits.
  4. Thoughts about winches

When I was young I worked off and on for a tow company. When doing bad recovery we always used snatch blocks. When pulling heavy equipment or 3 ton and up long wheel base trucks you needed multiple attachment points. Not for your regular side of the road but over the bank roll overs. I have...
  5. Eco-Diesel Rubicon / Willys steering knuckles

The information when they released th Mojave was that a desert rated Mojave Wrangler was coming. I doubt a 2 door would be on the books as the wheelbase would be too short for higher speeds. I don't know how the Mojave's are making out with lift kits. You wouldn't want to replace those...

I installed a few MT remote starts on vehicles. This was several years ago so I do have a question. How does it know it's in neutral. The ones I installed either had a sensor block you put around the shifter or the newer ones has a shut down procedure. If I remember right you had to put it in...

Dealer an erase all the keys then program in only the ones he wants. Independent garages can do this also but they have to have the equipment and subscription.
  10. Alignment shop tech disconnected my dash-cam - what should I do?

Body cameras for police are a hot topic here right now. Both to hold them accountable for their actions and as evidence when they are properly conducting themselves. The general opinion is that a dash camera is proof that you are not responsible for the accident. But what if you are? Are you...
  11. Alignment shop tech disconnected my dash-cam - what should I do?

Just for discussion, what if the plumber wore a body camera and filmed your wife, kids and inside your house while he was working? What if he asked first or did it without you knowing. At the time your house is his workplace just like the inside of a shop? I know this isn't quite the same...
  12. Alignment shop tech disconnected my dash-cam - what should I do?

The OP lives in B.C. as do I and I work at a Jeep dealership. After some discussion during lunch today the a little online research about provincial and federal laws it seems everybody is at fault. The mechanic has broken the law by driving while on his phone. This is a offence here that is...
  13. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

I suspect they are running a algorithm that compares clutch pedal position, rpm, time between applications and speed.. They use this in other circumstances to calculate data.
  14. Battle of the Dana 44 Axle Upgrades

$2700 Gets you a new front axle and 4.10 gears assembled through mopar performance, it is in their jeep catalogue. Remember that price when you are buying a used one. The mopar one does not start with a "p" part number so it should have their warranty also.

Get a muffler shop to bend you a tip you can clamp on to pass, then remove it until next time. MVA regulations are up to the inspector, he could have just had a fine for something and is being overly sensitive.
  16. 2-Way Portable Winch Idea

There is companies that sell quick connect power and ground connections that can be run through the grill. Tow and service trucks use them for jump starting equipment. You would want a interrupter for the rear outlet, it is a lot of cable to be unprotected. I have considered this option as I...

Have a hand full of small treats ready. When she starts to freak out let your kids give her them slowly one by one. It will divert her attention away and associate hard trails with treat time.
  18. Body shop did more damage to my Jeep*

The last picture looks like the paint is flaking. I have had this to vehicles before and it isn't going to stop there. It needs to be stripped and have a proper etching primer applied. If to were just the bolt heads I would touch it up but damage to the hinge isn't going to get any better.
  19. Autopark Got Me
