  1. Wrangler 4XE Drive Modes Analysis

It’s being worked on. Stay tuned.
  2. Wrangler 4XE Drive Modes Analysis

It’s a tough test. On the highway, it’s not as beneficial as around town. It would be hard to come away with a fuel economy impact because it would have to be done in hybrid mode over a pretty long trip to see the difference. The real advantage would be in extending electric mode. I want to try...
  3. 400 volt battery safety

From time to time I have seen posts where people mention tapping in to the high voltage battery for over landing use. The first issue is that there would have to be some sort of conversion to a lower voltage which would require some sort of hardware. If you are going to that much trouble to add...
  4. Wrangler 4XE Drive Modes Analysis

I forced myself to run it to get those 300 miles in. It was painful.
  5. Wrangler 4XE Drive Modes Analysis

That’s a really good question. I’ve only done a couple 120+ mile trips to test and was seeing around 24MPG. I need to take some really long drives to test more.
  6. Wrangler 4XE Drive Modes Analysis

    Good theory. Wow!
  7. Wrangler 4XE Drive Modes Analysis

That’s good to know. I haven’t tried to charge it all the way using e-save.
  8. Wrangler 4XE Drive Modes Analysis

I was trying to somewhat match the colors on the screen of the 4XE. Someone at Jeep must be a Cheese Head.
  9. Wrangler 4XE Drive Modes Analysis

After driving the Wrangler 4XE for a while, I've started to create a mental image of how I perceive the software prioritizes power use. There's a lot going on in the software. The amount of code must be amazing. This is nothing official and I have no access to the actual data. I have just been...
  10. 4xe 0-60 in 6 seconds? YES!!!

I have heard so many poor explanations given by people that should be the people that can be counted on for good information. I've seen videos made by dealers saying the 4XE will get 49MPG and all sorts of crazy stuff. I want to yell at the screen and ask them how a 5000 pound machine could...
  11. 4xe 0-60 in 6 seconds? YES!!!

I don't believe it would be much different at full charge because even when it's depleted and shows "<1%" on the dash, it still has about 15% state of charge. That's used for hybrid driving so the power is always there. The vehicle works to keep that charge around 15%.
  12. 4xe 0-60 in 6 seconds? YES!!!

I was in the 4W auto not the 4WD since I was on pavement. I was losing traction in 2WD. It wasn't bad but it was enough to make it frustrating. It was cool out and I wasn't on the best pavement. I could have power breaked just a tad harder but I wasn't trying to abuse the Jeep too bad.
  13. 4xe 0-60 in 6 seconds? YES!!!

I hate to sound critical of anyone but there's some bad information communicated in that video.
  14. 4xe 0-60 in 6 seconds? YES!!!

I wonder what mode he had it in?
  15. 4xe 0-60 in 6 seconds? YES!!!

I can't find the teraflex video. Do you have a link?
  16. 4xe 0-60 in 6 seconds? YES!!!

I was in hybrid mode on all of these. The battery was at the <1% point. I power braked all but the second run.
  17. 4xe 0-60 in 6 seconds? YES!!!

Might give you motion sickness. :)
  18. 53.6 MPG in a Wrangler 4XE?!?!

No, that's not what MPGE is. MPGE is a rating.
  19. 4xe 0-60 in 6 seconds? YES!!!

These were done with the battery at less than 1%. I was in 4WD high. I'm happy to report that 0-60 in 6 seconds is completely feasible even with the battery discharged. I was hitting eSave+charge between attempts just to put a touch in but I was at that less than 1% state on all runs. Click here:
