I might be wrong, based on my other car which is also a hybrid, I think it’s just a raw numbers ratio, you’ve driven M miles, and used G gallons, hence M/G… if I drive in electric it still counts the miles which increases the mpg total.
ha ha, I'm hoping it will be even more beautiful in person when I pick it up tomorrow (and it's been detailed). Super excited (but equally terrified).
This will be my first officially new car I've ever bought and part of me things I'm crazy.
I don't think that it doesn't have proper tracking, just that we don't have access to that tracking. When you order those $10 socks from amazon you get a tracking number from UPS or whatever and you can see where it's been or when delivery is expected. I'm sure that that same level of tracking...
I was told 4/6 off the train 30 miles from me, but want to check in again today to see if there’s an update to when at dealership
EDIT:
Just got off the phone with the dealership and it's now slipped to 4/17.
From a logistics stand point, this whole system is a huge joke, like no one seems...
I apologize then, as I said I only have experience with my current PHEV which is a 2018 so not terribly old, but as far as I know the brake lights only come on while braking, not just while recharging. It’s quite possible that the term regenerative braking now no longer means a specific thing...
I think this is one of those internet things where it’s getting lost in translation… :/
the original question was regarding if the brake lights come on while regen braking, as it seems that everyone assumes that when you take your foot off the gas and it starts charging that THAT is regen...
I do currently have a phev so i do actually have experience. There is a difference between coasting and regen braking. Especially when it relates to cruise control.
now obviously the 4xE may be different than my current car but I would separate it into three functions, coasting, regen cruising...
Coasting shouldn’t involve the brake lights anymore than it would in any other car, as the car is not actively braking. Cruise control likewise should not activate the lights unless it is the adaptive cruise control kicking in to actually brake - but coasting and ‘regen braking’ such as when...
These would be good for the accessories battery on a non EV system...
Keep in mind that the 4xe battery pack is 400volts and 17kWh. it takes 12 + hours on 110v house current to recharge the battery, so any solar system would have to be capable of working in that range, a small hood mounted...
My assumption would be to not use battery at all in either extreme condition if it meant either reduced capacity or potential damage and would be more than fine to use the gas engine to get going and give the system time to adjust to a more desirable working temperature, but the way you’re...
In your video it says 16.9 mpg, obviously it’s not been driven a lot at that point but have you found that so far to be accurate? Is that total mpg including electric or only counted while the engine is actually running?
Definitely looking forward to mine now…
the rise in the seats is a bit, but like stated in the video a platform could be easy to put together and I’m sure at some point there will be plenty of aftermarket options available
hope to see some more videos soon to pass the time waiting for mine
