  1. Security Related Accessories / Theft Prevention

All good options, but as others have said: if people want in, they will get in. Best option in my book is to leave all the valuables out of the Jeep and not lock the center console. If anyone breaks into the jeep to gain access, they won't think twice about snapping the plastic handles and locks...
  2. Rear Axle Replacement 42k Miles

Do you have a recording of the sound at all? I'm at 57,000, JLUS M/T and have had a similar slight clunk noise at takeoff... but I've had this noise since about 3,000 miles, and it is hit or miss, never affects the driving characteristics. I chalked it up to just being "one of those things, no...
  3. Oil consumption 3.6l v6

Having a similar issue with my 2019 JLUS 4door, manual transmission. I have about 56,000 miles on it. Last oil change was about 8,000 miles ago; I normally change every 5,000 but decided to go by the oil life range on the dash cluster. By that reading, 8,000 miles still showed I had 11% left...
  4. Now I’m worried

I mean, depends on WHY you are buying a wrangler and how you plan to drive it. For someone like me who had never owned a Jeep prior to my 2019 JLU Sport, I initially wanted the off road capability and to have a fun machine that can be topless, doorless, etc and offer a wide range of driving...
  5. Tell us about the long hauls!

Very good info to have! We were considering going that way.....
  6. Tell us about the long hauls!

These are good points to keep in mind. I consider myself a cautious driver, but if the roads are slick and someone else is driving crazy, it'll still be dangerous to be hauling 2,000 lbs with no extra braking capabilities.. Appreciate the feedback
  7. Tell us about the long hauls!

As a sidestep, here are a few pics of my camper build. It's still a work in progress. I'm working to keep the weight just under 2,000 lbs for towing purposes. As with most things, it turned out to be a WAY more involved job than I was hoping. I thought I'd just replace some wood in the back...
  8. Tell us about the long hauls!

Thats exactly the kind of stuff I'm shooting for! Looks amazing My goal is to avoid major interstates as much as possible and take all the back roads
  9. Tell us about the long hauls!

Post some links to your threads about the trips! I'd love to read them All of your trips sound amazing and have me thinking more about where out west to go
  10. Tell us about the long hauls!

Yep! Original bought it on fb marketplace, but it was so water damaged and rusted out that I ended up completely rebuilding it. Can send you PLENTY of pics if you wanna see the build
  11. Tell us about the long hauls!

Its been a wild year so far, but one positive to come out of it is that I'm finally heading out on a 5,000+ mile trip in the Jeep with secluded destinations in mind. I'll be driving my soft top 2019 JLU Sport, Manual trans, (52K on it so far and counting). I'll also be towing a small homemade...
  12. Winch Winch Winch

The first thing I did to my jeep was add a stubby bumper and a Quadratec Q Series Stealth winch. And ever since then, I've been using the winch every time I can! -Out on the farm and there's a big tree down? Hang on. I'll grab the jeep and pull it this way or that so we can get to it easier...
  13. Another ESS issue: ESS Disables Cruise Control

I see your point, actually hadnt thought of it like that before.
  14. Another ESS issue: ESS Disables Cruise Control

Agreed that everything is tied together, there's no telling what the root cause is unless you take it to get diagnosed and fixed. The problem is though that not only are parts backordered, it's pricey to have your jeep taken in and looked at when you're out of warranty. Especially for a silly...
  15. Another ESS issue: ESS Disables Cruise Control

Update: took my JL into the dealer yesterday, and they diagnosed my problem as a failing clutch switch which has been affecting ESS intermittently and causing cruise control to become inactive. Good news is the issue is found, bad news is the parts are on back order for who knows how long...
  16. Another ESS issue: ESS Disables Cruise Control

Hello All, I've read around on a few threads looking for this issue, but haven't found anyone with this specific recurring issue. 2019 JLU Sport S, Manual, tow package, 52K miles on the clock. Issue is recently ESS has been saying the usual nonsense seen elsewhere "service start stop system"...
  17. Clutch pedal sticks to floor intermittently...

2019 JLU Sport S, 6 speed with just over 50 K on the clock. The Issue: Randomly, clutch pedal will stick to the floor and not come back up. Could be during downshift or upshift, no specific circumstances I can note to reproduce the issue... it's just at random. When it happens, the pedal feels...
  18. Unlock/Lock Glove Box and Center Console with Key Fob?

I think its a cool idea, but sounds like more trouble than reward. A few months ago, someone broke into my soft top and, among other things, snapped the handle off of my locked glove box. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/bummed-after-soft-top-vandalized.51310/ If you went through...
  19. Aftermarket suspension, NO LIFT. Thoughts?

+1 for the Rubicon takeoffs I'm not sure why I never considered this... it is the solution I need. Im already stretched very thin on a budget, so that would help with the added weight. Then I'll have a few more dollars to put towards future upgrades
