I guess I did...I asked at first and then decided to jump in and tackle it myself, and so I posted my process, hoping it would assist others out there!
I used the Infinity Refence 3.5" in the dash, as well as replacing the knee speakers with Metra pods and Infinity Reference 6.5" speakers in place. Also replaced sound bar with SSV adapters and Infinity Reference 6.5" speakers. Finally, added the Kicker HS10 sub under passenger front seat...
Moderately easy process, actually. Here are my steps:
1) Disconnect battery - make sure to isolate the aux battery ground wire from the ground connection. Then remove the ground connection from the battery post.
2) Wait 30 minutes before continuing!
3) On the sides of the steering wheel...
I can confirm this process works. Remove the supplemental ground wire #2 and isolate. Then remove the negative terminal from the battery post and isolate.
I am surprised there aren't any good videos of removing the steering wheel in our Jeeps. I found one on YouTube, but it's not very good. I am pulling mine off to swap out the bezel; just worried about unplugging the connectors for the airbag and controls. Any tips/tricks?
Depending on the speaker, yes it’s worth it. I used Infinity Reference speakers, and their sensitivity is fairly high. As far as louder, it’s debatable. They absolutely sound better than the stock ones, but you won’t be able to crank the volume much higher unless you use amplification.
