  1. JL A/C

I just went to the dealer to have the TSB referenced earlier in this thread performed. They told me my software was up to date, which is impossible since this TSB came out after the last time I had been to the dealer. They did some other software updates while I was there, so maybe it somehow...
  2. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

I was thinking about this from a resale perspective too - it may be something that informed Jeep prospects look for on the 18-20's. Better to get it done than not IMO even if your steering is not as horrendous as others.
  3. Impressions from a 5.13 gears install on a JL Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (JLUR)

Update: Got my Jeep back from the new steering gear TSB and a few other software updates. The Jeep now shifts into 8th gear normally with no problems. I'm guessing they did a full reset with their diagnostic tool when they were doing other software updates and it wiped the memory and fixed...
  4. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Just picked up the Jeep Friday after the TSB. There is a huge difference in steering feel overall. Dead spot went from about an inch to about 3/8". Steering feel is more "stiff" feeling. Kind of like if your car has steering modes and you switch from normal to "sport" mode. Wander is...
  5. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

877-426-5337 That's garbage about the warranty. My dealer threatened to do the same thing because of the lift (which ironically is Mopar). They can't void your warranty on your air conditioning because you have a lift. Can they void it on suspension components and powertrain? sure. Still...
  6. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

I sent them a couple yesterday morning. Still no response. I ended up calling them (but that was worthless). Probably depends on who you get in touch with.
  7. Fix for Hot Air blowing every 30 min while A/C on?

Old thread, but ironically I was at the dealer today trying to get this TSB done. Dealer referenced the old star case from 2018 saying its normal and I argued back that the TSB is from 2019. They are telling me my software is up to date (which is impossible, since the last time I was at the...
  8. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

My experience: Brought it in today with this TSB and several other software update TSB's that needed to get done. The Service Advisor didn't want to look at the TSB or discuss it, but I left it with him. Of course I get a call at the end of the day and they only did 1 out of 5 of the software...
  9. Impressions from a 5.13 gears install on a JL Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (JLUR)

I did not, but I think that's my next step. Jeep is actually at the dealer right now - trying to get the new steering fix done and a few other things. I will give it a shot when I get it back. It will hold 80 fine in 8th gear when I manually shift it, so I don't think that's the issue. It's...
  10. Impressions from a 5.13 gears install on a JL Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (JLUR)

Question for the guys with 5.13s - I just passed the 500 mile mark and had the fluids drained/filled, so was able to take it up to 80 for the first time (actually a couple times now). I noticed that the jeep is not wanting to shift into 8th at that speed. I can manually move it into 8th and...
  11. Post Lift Alignment Issues

The cross caster is intended to help combat the crown. I'd have them set that thrust angle to 0. The metalcloack has adjustable rear control arms, so there is no reason why they shouldn't be able to.
  12. Post Lift Alignment Issues

I can't see your thrust angle in the pic, but it looks like its negative, which would point the rear wheels to the left and cause it to steer right. If you have adjustable rear control arms, that's an easy fix. I'd have them add more cross caster and increase total caster to 6.5ish. The crown...
  13. Impressions from a 5.13 gears install on a JL Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (JLUR)

So far, loving them. Still in the break-in period (have put on 250 miles), so I don't have a full impression yet. What I've noticed is that the jeep no longer has the "laggy" feeling it had before when I'd step on the gas; it just goes. Top speed I've been able to do is 60mph and I'm seeing...
  14. Impressions from a 5.13 gears install on a JL Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (JLUR)

I read this entire thread and it definitely made me question my gearing plans. I had been planning on 4.88's for the last 2 years and after reading this and doing some math, I have decided on 5.13s mainly because I miss the pep that the Jeep had when it was new. My appointment is thursday. I...
  15. Right pull

Bronco isn't going to have death wobble because it's independent front suspension. You guys should check your thrust angles if you are pulling to the right. When you lift the jeep with a stock rear track bar, the axle gets pulled to the right and throws off the thrust angle (makes it point to...
  16. Creaking sound from driver side pillar

Figured I'd post an update on here. Since I originally installed the bolt fix in 2018, we have not had ANY creaking come back in about 18k miles....problem solved!
  17. Finally did a chalk test on 37s

26.5 cold for my Rubicon with 37s
  18. 35" vs 37" Tires (and lift) on a JLRU for Daily Driver at 70-90 mph

18 Rubicon with mopar lift and 37x12.5x17 ridge grapplers for about a year now and 13,000 miles. Live in FL and drive over 80 to work daily. Handles better than stock, but still has the wandering issues to some extent. I debated 35s vs 37s ad nauseam and glad I went with 37s. Ridge grapplers...
  19. Florida Roll Call!

Haha sorry man. I got a mustang and have been spending a big chunk of my time on those forums & modding it. I still see ya driving through the neighborhood all the time! Have you seen me/my wife yet?
