  1. RUBICON RECON Edition JL Club Thread

A few changes since I got it back in August. Thinking about switching my fenders back to stock. Kind of like the look more. I love my Recon and it’s capabilities off-road

    Thank you!
  3. JL Cargo Area Lighting Upgrade

Which switch did you use? I like how it’s illuminated red. Thanks

They lasted my 14 hour drive there and 3 days of continuous off-road use. I need to make a small adjustment, because I think I didn’t install them correctly. They squeaked a little off road. Other than that, they’re great. Unfortunately they come in a pair and I have a roof ladder on one side...
  5. RUBICON RECON Edition JL Club Thread

I definitely want to invest in recovery gear. Still researching what works best for my needs. I’m trying to take a little break though. I went crazy the last 2 months buying things.

Yes sir. That was an amazing trail. Also did Fins and Things and Tip Toe Back Door. At least that’s what someone called it. Lol. Couldn’t pass up that great photo op with the tripod Jeep

Spent the weekend in Moab. The Jeep impressed me more than I could ever imagine. It was an amazing experience.
  8. Rhino Rack Backbone WITH Maximus-3 Roof Ladder

Nope. Didn’t directly line up with it. The Maximus-3 pioneer platform is 54” and the rhino rack one is 56”. So it sits a little further in. I just manhandled it a little and now it’s good.
  9. Rhino Rack Backbone WITH Maximus-3 Roof Ladder

Looks great. I just used longer bolts and they eventually came together with the base. It’s not moving at all. Great choice in wheels too!! Great minds think alike.
  10. Rhino Rack Backbone WITH Maximus-3 Roof Ladder

No way to access the bottom nuts without popping off the side panel. One small screw and some elbow grease. There’s some videos on YouTube that show you how to remove the inner paneling.
  11. Rhino Rack Backbone WITH Maximus-3 Roof Ladder

Honestly I don’t hear much more than the usual interior sound of a Jeep. I’m also always playing music, so that probably helps drown out any extra noise. I certainly haven’t heard any whistling yet.
  12. RUBICON RECON Edition JL Club Thread

Looks great. Can’t wait to see it in person.
  13. Rhino Rack Backbone WITH Maximus-3 Roof Ladder

Took off to Big Bear right after I finished. Not sure how practical it is, but my kids love it.
  14. Rhino Rack Backbone WITH Maximus-3 Roof Ladder

Just installed it today. Not sure why people think they don’t have to drill? There is no other way to mount the lower bracket to the Jeep. If you have spacers on your low profile legs, you will need spacers on the bracket. 1/2”-3/4” at most. 2” is crazy. That must be for the regular height legs...
  15. RUBICON RECON Edition JL Club Thread

Which model did you go with?
  16. RUBICON RECON Edition JL Club Thread

Just about ready to head to Big Bear this weekend and Moab in two weeks. Need to add a winch next.
  17. Rhino Rack Backbone WITH Maximus-3 Roof Ladder

Did you have to drill into your backbone frame for the ladder bracket? If so, could you also post pics of that? I would be very appreciative. I’m getting mine delivered today and I’m a complete novice to all of this.
  18. RUBICON RECON Edition JL Club Thread

Great color choice. Once I saw the Sting Gray in person, I knew that was the one I had to get. Congratulations!!!
  19. RUBICON RECON Edition JL Club Thread

Well this just happened. First time Jeep owner. I thought I should just go big right away. Turned in my minivan. Aka my Dodge Challenger. Now time for the next chapter.
