  1. JL Wrangler vs New Ford Bronco

I swear, I must have gotten a mutant Jeep. '20 2 door SS and it is an absolute go cart at high speed. Have had it up to 90 without a shimmy or drift. Regularly cruise at 75 - 80 every day. I'm in no way doubting the issues others have - too many horror stories to discount - but mine has never...
  2. Constantly asked why didn't I get a 4 door!!!! Anyone else?

The 2 door was never intended to be a heavy hauler or even a 'sports/ute'. It's a Jeep. It's first function is as a super capable off road vehicle. Can it haul 6,000 lbs? Of course not. Nor is it intended too. But the truck you buy that can, can't make it over obstacles the Jeep can. It's widely...
  3. Constantly asked why didn't I get a 4 door!!!! Anyone else?

I chose my '20 JL 2 door for two simple reasons. I like the look of the 2 door better and had no need for the space of of the 4 door. Just me, the wife and a 35 lb border collie. I'm 6'4" , 225lbs and find the fit perfect. In fact I prefer the upright position over my wife's L.R. Discovery on...
  4. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Airing up. But not just for recreation. We have a fleet of 12 vehicles for our contracts that regularly get punctures - we drive through a lot of new home construction areas and are constantly picking up nails/screws. This makes it much easier for me to run out, plug the hole and air them back...
  5. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Mounted an ARB single compressor in the engine bay. Was a simple, straight forward install with the ACM mount.
  6. Lots of Good Reviews, those Bad Ones though....

While I can't speak to the reliability of the diesel, It sure reminds me of all the negative doombsaying about the 2.0 when it was new - you would have thought FCA was re-introducing the Edsel. My experience with the 2.0T so far (others may differ): I drive 50 miles round trip to work. I am a...
  7. Sun Visor Fix

5/16 bore 63/64 OD 5/16 thick (8*25*8mm). Actually ground the thickness down to just under 7mm but it still rubs on the frame.
  8. Sun Visor Fix

In all honesty, it works, but I'm not thrilled with it. It's been a week now and I can see that it is ever so slowly sliding out of the clamp. The grip just isn't good enough with the shaft wrapped. Also, despite grinding the plastic down as far as I was comfortable with, it still rests against...
  9. GMRS antenna mount

This was less than $30 on Amazon. Placed some neoprene behind it to protect the paint and had to use a spare bolt from the hardtop to get it tight. Once the 6db antenna was mounted, it perfectly matched the AM/FM antenna on the other side - the symmetry pleases my sense of aesthetics. Gets great...
  10. New trails added!

Rocky Gap is a must do standard here in Las Vegas....first BoH trail in Nevada.
  11. Anyone have buyer's remorse for ordering the 3.6 instead of the 2.0 Turbo.

How silly of me to have missed that. In light of this compelling evidence, I retract my previous declaration, and anoint his credibility beyond reproach.🤙
  12. Anyone have buyer's remorse for ordering the 3.6 instead of the 2.0 Turbo.

Take a look back at his join date and posts..., I smell troll...
  13. Sun Visor Fix

Just realized I'm being stupid...I can simply insulate the visor shaft with a bit of electrical tape and then clamp the collar to it. Should do the trick... To close to the problem to think of that earlier - duh on me.
  14. Sun Visor Fix

Just fixed mine with the metal collars and had the same issue. When tightened up and touching the frame the openers short out. Wrapped it in electrical tape and it works fine. Not a permanent solution, but will do until I get the plastic collars. I know for a fact that I did not nick the wires...

  16. Has anybody ever regretted buying a Wrangler?

That is a bummer. It was my only color choice. I had to place a factory order to get the ocean blue. Not a single 2 door on any dealer lot within 500 miles of here. Ordered it right after production stopped for Covid and had to wait 'til the end of August to get it. She's been a real gem -...
  17. Has anybody ever regretted buying a Wrangler?

I have a 2020 sport s 2 door. I have never had a steering issue. It is my daily driver and hit 75 - 80 on the freeway regularly and it's rock solid. I've driven on several 500+ mile trips with no complaints. Those issues are mostly a thing of the past for stock jeeps.
  18. Has anybody ever regretted buying a Wrangler?

It's more of a "love it / don't get it" vehicle. It's purpose built for off roading with refinement layered over the top. It is unapologetic about what it is, and it always feels like - too me at least - those who hate it, don't really understand it. For me, it's like a shiny new toy every time...
  19. Which hard top removal device would you recommend?

Two kayak hoists and a pair of 6 inch cleats. Cost less than $50 and works like a charm. I've since replaced the nylon line and hooks with 550 paracord with toggles on the end. Slip the toggles through the bolt holes and hoist away. Once lifted, I run a ratchet strap under it for safety. 10 -...
  20. Thoughts about winches

Since I have to first purchase a steel bumper and then a winch, I decided it was worth the $ to have some decent recovery gear. I picked this up on sale and feel I can at least flag someone down to help me out - or be available to help another stuck soul - until I kit out a bumper and winch...
