  1. Trailer harness and brake controller.

The biggest was figuring out where it’s supposed to be because the instructions are not great. Also the controller was assembled wrong at the factory so I had to uninstall it, disassemble the knob and rebuild it because the silver ring wasn’t installed right at Mopar and it was causing the...
  2. Trailer harness and brake controller.

I would not want something like brakes to be reliant on a wireless signal. A small hassle up front will save massive hassles down the road, just my take.
  3. Trailer harness and brake controller.

THe mopar brake controller is pretty nice, but it isn't anything special from what else is out there. After going thru the surprisingly difficult install of the mopar brake controller and seeing this photo I would do the redarc controller. I used the redarc on my JK and it worked well, and...
  4. AEV ProCal SNAP

Are you doing it in the right place? they open easily. The lock is a flap cover that sits in the middle of the connector from plug end to wire insertion end. If you look at the sketch in the instructions it is much better than you would initially think. the flap or door is about 1/4in in...
  5. Pictures of camping with your Jeep

well you might not be a doctor, but at least you can feel like one staying at the Holiday Inn Express.
  6. Has anyone installed the Mopar Trailer Brake Controller?

I recently saw this pic from someone in a JT forum. If I was going to do it again, I might do this because the redarc is a great unit (functions the same as the mopar one) and that is a good location w/ keeping the 12v port. Now I will say from installing my mopar harness, I don't think...
  7. Installed Shrockworks Rock Sliders on my JLURD

I don't think they have any referral or anything. I'm someone who likes quality products and I see a lot of flaws in some of the options out there. Some people care about that and some don't. I have no skin in the game if people get shrockworks or not, but over the 15y of being a customer of...
  8. Installed Shrockworks Rock Sliders on my JLURD

Yes you’re overthinking it. I have 3 young kids and been camping with them since they were infants (5mo for my 1st and 2mo for my 2nd/3rd). With 3 it is harder to get kids in because of reaching over a seat to get to the middle one. With 1 or 2 it is fine because they’re on the side and there...
  9. Installed Shrockworks Rock Sliders on my JLURD

yes, but it is only a little bit lower than the opening. So it isn't super smooth using it as a step, but it is helpful. On my JK I didn't have the grate thing on top that they offer now, and my pregnant wife used it frequently to help get in. Otherwise we both just put a foot in the...
  10. Installed Shrockworks Rock Sliders on my JLURD

I've had shrockworks on 3 vehicles now and have been a customer since 2005. The wait is annoying, but it is worth it. They make excellent products that are well thought out and are not rushed to market. Until Covid, Shrockworks was significantly longer than all the other companies, but a lot...
  11. Tread Lightly discount

Some dealers may require the code to order, but that is something you will have to discuss with the dealer. I can tell you for future, if you were a tread lightly member (like you bought a prior jeep with it) and you let your membership lapse. When you join again, do a renewal and as soon as...
  12. Foam Cannon Soap Suggestions

Once I started using Griots stuff, I really haven't found anyone that seems to do a better job with their products; some are just as good. Griots foaming surface wash or their ceramic soap work great and their polygloss is great finisher. Their PFM towels are amazing. 1 towel, never needs to...
  13. Offroad diesel

The manual has a specific maximum mix ratio of farmer diesel and ULSD; I don't remember what the ratio was, but it was low %. The thing is they can be the exact same diesel with a different dye, but there is no guarantee the off road diesel will be the same as the ULSD. I don't know enough to...
  14. April 2021 pricing/rates/incentives??

Right now the best rates I know of are 5y for 2.24% and 6y for 2.74%, or jeeps 0% for 3y. If you have top tier credit, anything over 3% for 5y is a rip off. I don't know your credit score and I don't know what is available for non-top tier rates. Top tier is usually high 700s and up.
  15. What does everybody do for a living?

I didn't know this was a competition, but clearly you just won
  16. Shocks. Want to hear some insight on fox 2.5 or like shocks

The 2.5s are cool and I love the look of them, but unless you're doing higher speed with whoops I don't see them being a good choice. From what you've said I don't see the 2.5s being a good choice for you. The adjustability is cool, but honestly are you going to fine tune them for each trail...
  17. Lots of Good Reviews, those Bad Ones though....

Not sure what you're talking about with the lifts. There are a lot of companies that make diesel specific lifts. Some companies just throw a spacer in there which IMO is not a good option, but a lot of good companies make diesel specific springs, Clayton, AEV, Rock Krawler, etc Engine bay is...
  18. MPG and Range on the Ecodiesel

Smart Stop Start is an excellent thing to have for a diesel. It’s so weird to see ESS on a diesel.
  19. Clayton 2.5 Ride Lift

Its a lift kit. If a place is hesitant to install a lift kit that is adjustable control arms and track bars then they probably aren't that familiar with jeeps. While the kit itself isn't the same as other brands, the install on any 8 control arm lift kit is the same. Probably just want to...
