The initial batch of 392’s were held for a few weeks. Mine was built in early March and shipped out on April 1st. It seems like they held the initial batch up and then released them all the first week of April.
I was under the impression that the 392 used the Mopar 2” lift, but I was corrected yesterday. I was informed that it’s essentially just taller springs to increase ride height. I measured the lower control arms at 24” which is apparently the same as the JLUR. I believe the 392 wheels have the...
I really like them, I wish they were a little more Bronze to match the accents on the 392 but I do love the wheel. That's why I am hoping to keep them with the 37's on it.
I tried out the 40's on my Gladiator before I got my lift and was able to actually drive it around, it definitely rubbed and I had to cautiously turn but it was "driveable":
I actually have the Nitto Ridge Grapplers ordered in 37x12.5's and should have them any day now. I am going to mount them on the stock wheels and will report back if I need spacers or not. I know the Method Race wheels we tried did have some backspacing to move them out a bit, so we will see.
We spent all day Sunday test fitting and swapping tires to try out 35's, 37's and 40's on our stock Wrangler 392! It was a long day, but definitely worth it to be able to see all 3 sizes on the 392 to help us decide what size tires to order for it. What size would you go with?
Not a bad idea, unfortunately, I am plagued with this disease where I can't leave my Jeeps alone! We already have the wheels in motion... and you can't stop this 392!!!
I'll try to measure it later today, how tall is your garage? My Gladiator is on a 4.5" lift with 40's and sits at 80", so this is definitely lower than that.
