  1. Is it truly 470lbs torque all day or diminishing torque based on electric power

The one on the right side of the floor. But for realz, hybrid mode, and might want max regen off.
  2. 4xe mods -- what works/doesn't work from usual JL's?

As soon as my 4xe arrives. I ordered back in November so by standard Jeep procedures I'll be one of the last ones to receive it. The sliders are sitting in my garage.
  3. What are you doing? Break in process?

    Already a thread. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/4xe-break-in-process.68630/
  4. Dissapointed in the 4xe Max Regeneration mode

Brake bias is carefully calculated and engineered for the stability of the car while turning. You can’t just give a car 100% rear bias as long as you aren’t braking hard enough to break the rear tires loose or else going into a turn the weight transfer of the vehicle would be completely off and...
  5. Dissapointed in the 4xe Max Regeneration mode

You're correct but I think also missing a bit of what he's saying. When a car stops, the majority of the breaking is done by the front wheels. This is intentional since the weight shifts forward, putting more weight on the front wheels, and allowing more braking power in the front before you...
  6. Driving the 4xe, thoughts, info and more!

First check to see if your state or power company offer rebates for specific chargers. That may sway your decision.
  7. Dissapointed in the 4xe Max Regeneration mode

This doesn't seem like a significant issue. Firstly it would mean the 4xe feels more like driving a regular car. Secondly, energy recovered is based on both the mass and speed of the vehicle being slowed. So if the 4xe weighs twice as much, it doesn't have to slow as much to regenerate...
  8. 4xe mods -- what works/doesn't work from usual JL's?

Thanks for that info. I suspect I may run into similar problems with the ROAM sliders. If it turns out to be the case I'll just use the body mounts instead of the frame mounts.
  9. Driving the 4xe, thoughts, info and more!

The knock sensors will adjust the ignition timing in real-time for either octane. I'm not sure you'd be able to tell a real-world difference in performance or economy.
  10. Is it truly 470lbs torque all day or diminishing torque based on electric power

If you force it into battery only mode, then correct, you don't get the full 470. If you're in hybrid mode and you hit the pedal then yes you'll get the full 470. The ICE will kick in even if you at that moment were only in battery power, and the automatic transmission will shift to keep you...
  11. Anyone adding Exhaust or Active Sound System for Engine Noise?

I agree with Yipee that I think most people, including myself also, didn't care about sound or lack of when ordering.
  12. Is it truly 470lbs torque all day or diminishing torque based on electric power

If you're cruising at 1400rpm and stomp on, the auto transmission will instantly shift into a lower gear so that you'll be in an rpm range with more torque. I think you're forgetting that based on multiple variables the automatic transmission will also be working to keep you in an appropriate...
  13. Driving the 4xe, thoughts, info and more!

I'm assuming you know GVW is not how much it weights though, right? If I recall the actual weight is around 5220.
  14. Is it truly 470lbs torque all day or diminishing torque based on electric power

It won't be at a fixed rpm since the rpm will be different depending on what gear you're in, which will be changing based on multiple variables.
  15. Driving the 4xe, thoughts, info and more!

I thought part of the difficulty with reporting effective MPG was that the MPG doesn't register unless the ICE is on, meaning you aren't seeing the effective MPG from the times you're on electric only?
  16. Driving the 4xe, thoughts, info and more!

Ah ok. I had incorrectly thought with the adapter you could plug into a supercharger but the actual charge rate would just be a standard level 2 rate. Some more Googling confirms that the adapter is for a Tesla charger, but Superchargers are only for Teslas.
  17. Driving the 4xe, thoughts, info and more!

From what I understand, with the Tesla to J1772 adapter, available on Amazon, you could charge from the Tesla branded chargers.
  18. Driving the 4xe, thoughts, info and more!

When you mention plugging into Tesla chargers, you do need the Tesla to J1772 adapter for that, right?
  19. 4xE Order Status??

Ordered November and finally shipped. Dealer ETA now sometime within the next 12 days.
  20. Another new 4xe walkaround/drive video

I was under the impression Offroad+ was only beneficial in very specific circumstances, like driving 40mph over a dirt trail?
